When you produce pretty much the same model for a full decade, you know there are big expectations for its successor. That’s why Mahindra engineers were pretty cautious with the next generation of Scorpio, which arrived last year. Of course, changes and improvements were significant, but the new SUV kept the original design approach. Logically, bigger changes aren’t expected in the next few years and that’s the reason why we are pretty sure that the 2024 Mahindra Scorpio N will continue with the same overall design, even though there is always room for minor tweaks, for things like new standard features.
So, we are about to see the same overall design, which offers a lot of great things. This SUV rides on a traditional body-on-frame chassis and offers strong off-road performance. At the same time, it is pretty refined and comfortable on the road, while the new cabin looks pretty luxurious and comes with lots of standard equipment. Finally, there are three pretty capable powertrain options, all refined and efficient.
So, with no changes to come, we presume that the 2024 Mahindra Scorpio N will arrive sometime in the last quarter of the year.
2024 Mahindra Scorpio N Design
This will be the third production year of the new generation and, as we already mentioned, it’s still early for bigger changes. A mid-cycle refresh is still years away, but smaller-scale updates are always possible, in terms of new color options and similar things. On the other hand, the overall design will remain the same, including the styling, which offers a good balance of contemporary aesthetics and bold appearance. It looks way more attractive than before and it is also notably bigger, as the wheelbase has been increased to 108.3 inches.
In terms of mechanics, the new model is still a classic body-on-frame SUV, which offers strong off-road potential. Of course, you can get a four-wheel-drive version, along with other off-road features, such as a locking differential and a transfer case. On the other hand, the new suspension setup is way more refined and offers a smoother and more comfortable ride than before.
Interior
As mentioned, the cabin design has been improved significantly, so we have no doubt that the 2024 Mahindra Scorpio N will continue in the same way, with all the benefits that came with the new design. The new model looks very attractive from the inside, thanks to the elegant dashboard design, fine materials and a lot of standards and available tech and convenience features.
We also mentioned that the new generation features a longer wheelbase, which translates to more interior space. There is more room than before and that’s particularly great if you opt for the additional, third row of seats, which turns this capable off-roader into a great people hauler as well.
2024 Mahindra Scorpio N Engines
Under the hood, the 2024 Mahindra Scorpio N should continue in the same way, with three familiar powertrain options on offer. The least powerful, but also the most efficient, is a 2.2-liter turbodiesel with 132 horsepower and 300 Nm of torque and we think it has enough power and torque to move this SUV pretty confidently. If you’re looking for something more capable, the same engine is available in a variant with 173 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque.
If you prefer petrol, there is a 2.0-liter turbo-four with 202 horsepower, which also offers a pretty impressive 375 Nm of max torque. This engine, as well as the more powerful diesel, comes coupled either with a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission. On the other hand, the base turbodiesel is available only with a 6-speed manual.
2024 Mahindra Scorpio N Release Date
Since there are no significant changes to come, we presume that the 2024 Mahindra Scorpio N will hit the market sometime in the last quarter of the year.
