2022 Chevrolet Suburban Features

The exterior of the 2022 Chevrolet Suburban is more stylish than before. As we mentioned, Suburban is one of the largest full-size SUVs on the market. This model stretches 225.7 inches, nearly 19 feet. It’s also around a foot longer than the Chevy Tahoe. Generally, this SUV is not easy to park in a standard garage.

Like the Tahoe, the new Suburban features identical design language. It comes with a massive grille, and it hosts very attractive boomerang-like running lights. On top of that, it has the most advanced independent rear suspension in its class and the first-in-class Four-Corner Air Ride Adaptive Suspension.

Cabin Design and Technology

The all-new 2022 Chevrolet Suburban comes with three rows of seats, like its sibling, the Chevy Tahoe. However, unlike Tahoe, the Suburban can seat up to nine people, which is excellent. The most favorite is the model with an 8-passenger setup or, with second-row captain’s chairs, providing the comfortable 7-seat option. Interestingly, the new Suburban offers slightly better legroom than the predecessor. Basically, thanks to the extra length, this SUV offers enormous 41.5 cubic feet of cargo space even with the third row up. That is around 16 cubic feet more than a Tahoe. On top of that, while folding the second row and third, it opens up 144.7 cubic feet. Generally, these numbers are all better than those we found on the Ford Expedition.

In terms of technology, the least-expensive Suburban LS is very well equipped. This model includes tri-zone automatic climate control, a 10-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto integration, and a 6-speaker audio system. Optionally, one can get 12-way power front seats with heating and ventilation, navigation, 10-speaker Bose audio, and an 8-inch digital instrument cluster. Also, more standard safety features are available includes forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection and automatic emergency braking.

2022 Chevrolet Suburban Powertrain Specs

Like the previous generation, the new 2022 Chevrolet Suburban will be available with two V8s gasoline and one diesel engine. The entry-level model uses a 5.3-liter V8 engine and is capable of producing 355-hp. This engine is available default on all trims, except the top-tier High Country model.

However, the next is more powerful, and it consists of a 6.2-liter V-8 producing 420 horses. The last one is a diesel 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine that pumps out 277 horses and 460 lb-ft of torque. All of the engines are hooked to a new 10-speed automatic transmission and either rear- or all-wheel drive.

Release Date and Price

The new 2022 Chevrolet Suburban can be expected to arrive in the second half of 2021. Interestingly, unlike the previous generation, which has been completely redesigned, the new one will only get mild refreshments. The current Chevrolet Suburban has an (MSRP) starting at $51,700 for a base LS model.

Moreover, we think that the new model one will not drastically different in terms of price. However, depending on the trim level, the price will vary. For example, RST costs $59,800, while the more luxury trim like the High Country variant starts at $72,300. The Suburban’s main rival, Ford Expedition Max, offers fewer features, but it begins higher at nearly $56,000.
