The upcoming 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLC is ready to introduce further updates. This model is about to arrive with some minor facelift. If you didn’t know, this SUV is ranked relatively high up on the market. It offers excellent safety, performance, and recognized design language. Besides, the GLC class has a good history of reliability and resale. For comparison, the latest Acura RDX does a bit better in the resale department, while the Audi Q5 is just bellow.

Under the hood, Mercedes plans to keep things intact. That means we can expect the same two powertrain options again. However, the second powertrain is available under the bonnet of the GLC 350e and is a plug-in hybrid.

2021 Mercedes-Benz GLC Exterior Facelift

The new 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLC is the SUV that will introduce some refreshments. As we said, there will be no significant updates this time. So, don’t be disappointed with its minor upgrades. However, according to the official, the next completed redesigned SUV should be available as 2022YM.

Refreshments of the forthcoming Mercedes-Benz GLC include a more aggressive exterior styling thanks to the revised grille and the LED headlights. As we can see, the manufacturer also adds daytime running lights. At the back, the same story continues with a new pair of LED taillights and a revised bumper. The alloy wheels of 18 inches are standard this time. However, adding the famous AMG styling packages, buyers will get a 19-inch AMG twin 5-spoke-style wheels, sport-brake upgrade, and gloss-black exterior accents.

Interior Hosts Minor Updates

In terms of design inside, the upcoming 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLC will get minor updates. As you may know, German cars are famous worldwide for good quality and durable materials. However, we are disappointed a little bit, because the latest GLC won’t get the all-new dual-screen system as many nowadays models. Generally, even the new A-Class comes with this system. More interesting is that the forthcoming model GLC hosts the same system as before.

Overall, the interior of the GLC-Class is welcoming yet simultaneously modern. There’s room inside for five occupants and all seats provide a pleasant ride on the long trips. Moreover, comfort is guaranteed and behind the rear seats, there are 20.5 cubic feet of luggage space. The formula for success is to add more features inside. So, the standard package is richer and it includes an infotainment system with a 10.3-inch screen and a touchpad, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual-zone automatic climate control, self-dimming mirrors, forward-collision mitigation, and so on.

Engine Options

Unfortunately, the same powertrains as before will power this SUV. The base engine is a 2.0-liter inline-four turbocharged mill producing 255 hp. On top of that, this unit delivers excellent torque of 275 lb-ft. The rear-wheel-drive system comes as standard, while the four-wheel-drive setup is still optional. A 9-speed automatic gearbox is standard and is easy for shifting.

The next powertrain powers GLC 350e version. This plug-in hybrid will use a 2.0-liter turbo-4 with an electric motor. Working together will deliver 315 horsepower and a whopping 516 lb-ft of torque. Electric-only range is excellent and thanks to this great system, GLC Hybrid can travel 28-30 miles. The same 9-speed automatic transmission is deployed.

How Much Does the 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLC Cost?

The new 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLC is the SUV that will receive some refreshments. According to the latest Mercedes statement, the price of this model will remain the same as before. So, expect this model to start slightly below $50,000. The upcoming GLC will arrive in the second half of 2020 as a 2021YM. Like before, the same battle will continue between this model and rivals such as BMW X5, Audi Q7, and the new Lexus RX 350.
