The new 2024 Ford Mustang has been confirmed, and it will debut in April next year. According to rumors, the next-generation model will receive a new interior, while the exterior likely won’t look too different from its predecessor. The first spy shots are available, but, unfortunately, the forthcoming Pony is wearing a lot of camos.

Judging by the camouflaged mules, the new sports car will undergo a major makeover, featuring a digital instrument cluster that wraps into a driver-focused infotainment touchscreen. Under the hood, expect the turbocharged 2.3-liter inline-four to be connected now via a mild-hybrid system. Also, the manufacturer will probably continue to offer GT, Mach 1, and GT500 models as well.

2024 Ford Mustang Redesign

Although the prototype of the 2024 Ford Mustang is heavily camouflaged, we can still see that the styling will be more aggressive than before. As far as we know, the redesigned Mustang will use the current car’s bespoke D2C platform.

The profile of the upcoming model reveals a new shape of the grille and the same vertical taillight elements that are all common. One visible difference compared to the previous model is the squinty headlights.

New Interior

Despite heavily camouflaged, we noticed many upgrades inside. The 2024 Ford Mustang looks way sporty than before, and it comes with a digital instrument cluster. It incorporates a widescreen infotainment system that sits further up compared to its predecessor.

Below the main screen, we also noticed two central vents, and they host a few physical buttons and a large knob to control the volume. Both USB-A and USB-C ports are visible as well, and we’re expecting more amenities to be part of upper trims. Just like its predecessor, the new Mustang will be offered with a few trims and packages.

2024 Ford Mustang Engine Options

Just like the predecessor, the 2024 Ford Mustang, we expect the new model to use the same engines. As standard, this sports car uses a 2.3-liter engine producing 310 horsepower. However, with the High-Performance Package, you will get around 30 horses more. A 6-speed manual transmission is standard, while a 10-speed automatic is on the options list.

The more powerful is a Mustang GT, which comes with a 5.0-liter unit developing 450 horsepower. Taking V8 power to the next level is the Mustang Mach 1, whose 5.0-liter engine generates 470 horsepower. The Shelby GT500 is the most powerful thanks to a supercharger 5.2-liter V8 with an awesome output of 760 horsepower. For transmission here, the manufacturer used a 7-speed automated unit. We also expect to see a hybrid model as well, so expect more information very soon.

How Much Does a 2024 Ford Mustang Cost?

Though further details are still a few months away, we know that the 2024 Ford Mustang will debut sometime in 2023 with slightly higher pricing. The current model starts at $27,205, while the convertible top is $32,705, plus destination charge.

The 2022 Ford Mustang EcoBoost Premium has a starting MSRP of $32,225. The coupe-only Mach 1 is $53k, while the almighty Shelby GT500 has a MSRP of $72,900. The Chevy Camaro is in the same class, and it starts lower at $26K, while the Dodge Challenger is around $30,000.
