Yes, the 2024 Forester is about to receive a complete redesign and we count on all kinds of novelties. Of course, the company will once again offer evolutionary changes, with subtle but important upgrades in various aspects. Naturally, we expect to see a new exterior design, along with the new cabin, along with more tech features. Another aspect where we could see novelties is the powertrain, as the latest reports suggest a comeback of the 2024 Subaru Forester Turbo.
At this point, details are still unknown but it looks like the company could once again offer a turbocharged powertrain in this compact crossover. Some sources suggest the new 1.8-liter unit, while there are also reports about the new performance version, which would feature a bigger and more powerful engine. Some sort of electrification is possible too.

2024 Subaru Forester Turbo Redesign
Just like with the previous redesign, this one should also be in Subaru’s typical fashion. Namely, this Japanese manufacturer has always been cautious with changes, so redesigns have always been subtle, with evolutionary changes in most aspects. That’s why we don’t expect to see anything different from the next generation.
The 2024 Subaru Forester Turbo should ride on the updated version of the company’s familiar platform, with slight modifications regarding suspension and chassis setup. This would result in slight improvements regarding ride quality, even though the current model already stands pretty well in this aspect, offering a smooth and comfortable ride, along with a decent level of athleticism. Of course, the overall layout won’t change, so you may count on a typical Subaru setup with a boxer engine and legendary AWD system. Still, we might see some new traction modes offered, for specific terrains and more challenging off-roading.
Of course, the new styling is another thing we expect to see and, of course, changes should be quite evolutionary. The overall shape will remain pretty much the same, while the biggest changes are expected at the front, where the new model should adopt the brand’s latest design language, new headlights and grille, similar to those found in the new WRX.
Interior

Speaking of the tech features, we believe that all models could come standard with a large 11.6-inch infotainment screen, along with various connectivity features, including wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
We presume that dimensions are about to remain similar to the current model. So, the amount of passenger space should remain similar as well, which definitely isn’t a bad thing, considering that the current generation is very generous with space in both rows. It accommodates five adults with ease, while there is also a generous cargo area. On the other hand, one of the aspects where we expect to see improvements i sound insulation, which could definitely be better in the current model.
2024 Subaru Forester Turbo Engine
One of the most anticipated changes for the next generation is the powertrain, which should get turbocharged. The current 2.5-liter naturally-aspirated engine doesn’t feel particularly peppy and one of the possibilities is to see it replaced with the new 1.8-liter turbo-four. This engine features slightly less power (174hp compared to 182hp) but offers 45lb-ft of torque more, which should have a big impact on the overall performance. The engine is rated at 174 horsepower and 221 pound-feet of torque and it would come coupled with a CVT.
Some sources also speculate about a high-performance version. In that case, the 2024 Subaru Forester Turbo would come with a 2.4-liter turbo-four, which puts out 260 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque. Finally, there is the matter of electrification, as various sources suggest a hybrid version for the next-generation model. For reference, the European-market version is already available with a mild-hybrid powertrain that combines a 2.0-liter engine with a 17-hp electric motor.
