The Japanese manufacturer is preparing another set of updates for its pickup. From what we know so far, the 2024 Honda Ridgeline is about to receive a major refresh, the second one in the current production cycle. Namely, the current generation arrived in 2016 and received the first update for 2021. This one will bring mostly visual updates, though changes are expected on the inside too, as well as under the hood.

All these updates should make the pickup more appealing, though we are pretty sure that the overall layout will remain the same. The next year’s Ridgeline will continue with its unique unibody layout, offering superior ride quality and comfort compared to other mid-size pickups. On the other hand, it will continue with limited working capabilities, due to its unusual design approach, offering notably lower towing capacity compared to key competitors.

Considering the refresh, the 2024 Honda Ridgeline should arrive a little bit earlier than usual, though still within the second half of 2023.

2024 Honda Ridgeline Design

As we’ve just mentioned, the 2024 Honda Ridgeline will bring big updates. The test mule has already been spotted on the road and it wears a good portion of camouflage. As you can see, both ends are covered, so we count on some pretty notable revisions. The front end is expected ot get a new fascia, along with reshaped headlights and grille. Practically, we expect to see a lot of influence from the new Pilot. The rear end, on the other hand, won’t feature such massive updates. Instead, it could bring some slight revisions to the tailgate and taillights. Other than that, things should remain the same.

Of course, we also expect to see typical mid-cycle updates, such as new color options and wheels designs. Also, it looks like the Ridgeline will finally get a TrailSport version, with lots of exclusive styling details and a few off-road hardware updates, such as upgraded suspension, additional traction control modes etc.

Interior

Updates on the issue are also expected. It is still unclear if the 2024 Honda Ridgeline is about to get a completely new dashboard design or smaller-scale updates, but some changes will certainly happen. We presume we could see a new infotainment screen, along with a new, digital instrument cluster. Further revisions on the center console are also expected, while typical updates like new color schemes and materials are also possible.

Still, the overall cabin layout won’t change and the Ridgeline will continue to deliver the most comfortable cabin in the class. Besides a smooth ride, this pickup also offers a spacious cabin with a generous amount of passenger room in both rows. The seats are nice, and the driving position is excellent. Of course, we count on the same, super-practical 5-foot-4-inch bed cargo bed, which offers an impressive level of flexibility.

Features

We have no doubt that the 2024 Honda Ridgeline will also bring a good number of new standard and available features. We already talked about the new infotainment system and similar things, but we also presume that some of the features that are currently optional could become part of the standard equipment.

For reference, the current model comes standard with goodies like an 8-inch touch screen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a seven-speaker stereo, Bluetooth and two USB ports, remote keyless entry, push-button start, remote start and tri-zone automatic climate control. The list of available features includes navigation, wireless device charging, satellite radio, HD Radio, two additional USB ports, an eight-speaker stereo and in-bed speakers, power outlets, a moonroof and ambient interior lighting.

2024 Honda Ridgeline Engines

When it comes to the powertrain, we know for sure that base models will carry on with the V6. However, the good-old 3.5-liter V6 might get a slight power upgrade, just like the new Pilot got. In that case, the max output would be increased from 280 to 285 horsepower, so differences in the overall performance shouldn’t be significant. The engine will continue in pair with a 9-speed automatic transmission, while the company’s excellent all-wheel drive system with torque vectoring will remain optional. When it comes to fuel economy, the current model returns up to 18 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway, which is pretty good for a V6-powered mid-size pickup truck.

On the other hand, some sources speculate about the possible addition of a hybrid powertrain. That model would come with a completely new system that Honda is allegedly working on. Details are still unknown but rumors talk about a system that’s based on a turbocharged engine, with a max output of around 300 horsepower.
