Like most other Genesis productions, the GV80 stands out from the crowd in many ways, but mostly because of its excellent value-for-money balance. The 2024 Genesis GV80 will certainly continue in the same way but things could actually become even better, as the mid-cycle refresh is on the way. This will be the fourth production year and we will actually see more changes than you would probably expect from such a refresh. Not only that there will be styling revisions, but we also expect to see the introduction of the coupe version.

All these updates and novelties will make this SUV even more appealing, though we don’t expect the overall layout to change. We expect to see the same overall design, which has so many great things to offer, starting from the handsome and spacious cabin, plenty of passenger space, long list of standard and available equipment, two capable powertrain options etc.

Considering the expected facelift, we might see a little bit earlier arrival than usual, though still within the second half of the year.

2024 Genesis GV80 Design

The 2024 Genesis GV80 facelift will bring a lot of novelties. We already mentioned the new, coupe version, which will bring a sportier look, with a sloping roof design. On the other hand, the standard SUV will come with notable styling updates. Details are still unavailable, but we expect to see a good portion of updates, considering that the test mule wears a pretty heavy camouflage. We presume most of the changes would happen at the front, though changes in other areas will certainly come as well.

When it comes to mechanics, we presume that the overall setup will remain the same, which means that the ride quality should remain the same as well. On the other hand, there are rumors that suggest that the coupe version could get four-wheel steering, something we’ve already seen in the G80 sedan.

Interior

At this point, it’s still unclear whether this refresh is bringing interior updates or not. Of course, updates are always welcome, but let’s not forget that the current model already looks pretty amazing from the inside. It features super-nice materials and a pretty elegant dashboard design, complemented by a generous offer of standard and available tech features. So, we think that the best we could see are minor updates, things like new color schemes and materials.

The standard SUV version will continue with the same steering configuration, accommodating 5 or 7 seven passengers, depending on the variant you pick. On the other hand, the new GV80 Coupe will feature two rows of seats and we presume that the sloping roof could compromise the second-row passenger room, as well as the cargo area.

Features

Naturally, we also expect to see novelties in terms of standard features. The list should be extended, though we should keep in mind that the current model is already pretty impressive in this aspect, so changes shouldn’t be significant.

For reference, the current model comes standard with goodies like a 14.5-inch touch screen, navigation, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, four USB ports, wireless device charging, HD Radio, satellite radio, a 12-speaker stereo, an analog gauge cluster, keyless entry, push-button start, remote start, a digital key app, dual-zone automatic climate control and rear sunshades

We presume some of the currently optional features could become part of the standard equipment, goodies like a 21-speaker stereo, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, tri-zone automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof, power soft-close doors and power rear sunshades.

2024 Genesis GV80 Engines

We don’t expect that the 2024 Genesis GV80 could bring changes under the hood. Instead, the two familiar powertrain options should carry on in the same way, where the base models would come with a 2.5-liter turbo-four, which puts out around 300 horsepower. It offers pretty good driving dynamics, while more ambitious drivers can go for an options turbo V6.

We are talking about the 3.5-liter V6 turbo, which features a max output of 375 horsepower and offers pretty impressive dynamics, including a 0-60 time in less than six seconds. Both units come coupled with 8-speed automatic transmission.

2024 Genesis GV80 Release Date and Price

We expect the 2024 Genesis GV80 to come sometime in the second half of the year, with a starting price of around 57.000 dollars. The coupe version will probably cost over 60.000 dollars and it will compete with models like BMW X6, Audi Q8 etc.
