The current generation of the most popular pickup on the market has been around since 2021, just like its off-road-performance iteration, known as the Raptor. Therefore, it’s no wonder that the company is already preparing a mid-cycle refresh, which should happen in the next year. From what we can see, the 2024 Ford F-150 Raptor will follow the same path and bring notable updates. We expect that most of the changes will be in terms of aesthetics, while the mechanical aspect is expected to remain pretty much the same.
Of course, we expect to see all those Raptor’s exclusive features to be implemented into the new styling, while some sources also speculate about interior updates, which could bring things like a new infotainment screen and similar things. On the other hand, the mechanical aspect of the vehicle is about to remain the same, including the recently-introduced Raptor R, with a more powerful engine and further off-road upgrades.
We expect that the 2024 Ford F-150 Raptor will hit the market sometime in the second half of the year.
2024 Ford F-150 Raptor Design
So, what we expect from the 2024 Ford F-150 Raptor is a typical mid-cycle update. Most reports suggest that the focus will be on aesthetics. The test mule of the standard F-150 has been spotted a few times and shows new taillights, along with a camouflaged front end, which should bring a bigger grille, revised headlights etc. Of course, there is no doubt that the Raptor will carry on with all those exclusive styling details and off-road upgrades.
Speaking of the off-road upgrades, some of the highlights are heavy-duty skid plates, 35-inch tires, Fox racing shocks, low-speed off-road cruise control, trail one-pedal driving and trail turn assist. The Raptor R brings even more upgrades, such as 37-inch tires, beadlock wheels, retuned shocks, higher ground clearance and unique graphics and styling.
Although we are talking about mid-cycle updates, we don’t believe that the 2024 Ford F-150 Raptor could bring more significant changes. Still, a few more features are always possible, starting from a bigger infotainment screen, which could be the same one that debuted in the new Lightning. The overall interior design will remain the same, offering modern aesthetics and a pretty good overall build quality.
The 2024 Ford F-150 Raptor will continue with the SuperCrew cab style, accommodating adults in two rows of seats with ease. The passenger space is very generous in both rows, while the front seats are also shaped pretty well and offer good side support.
2024 Ford F-150 Raptor Engines
Things under the hood definitely won’t change. So, you may count on two familiar versions – Raptor and Raptor R.
The standard Raptor will continue with a familiar 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6, which features a max output of 450 horsepower and 510 pound-feet torque. The engine comes in pair with a 10-speed automatic transmission and offers pretty impressive overall performance. Of course, four-wheel drive is standard, along with other off-road features we talked about.
The 2024 Ford F-150 Raptor R was introduced recently and it will certainly carry on in the same way. We are about to see the same 5.2-liter Supercharged V8, which puts out around 700 horsepower and 640 pound-feet of torque. Of course, it comes with the same 10-speed automatic but offers significantly better performance, and competes directly with the RAM TRX, which is also powered by a monstrous Supercharged V8 engine.
Although primarily a super-capable off-roader, the Raptor also offers a long list of standard and available comfort and convenience features. All Raptor models come standard with leather upholstery, power-adjustable front seats, heated and ventilated seats, a 12-inch infotainment screen (which could be replaced with a larger unit next year), dual-zone climate control, ambient interior lighting, power-adjustable pedals, remote start and remote tailgate release, satellite radio etc.
There are a few more Raptor-exclusive features, such as unique 17-inch alloy wheels with 35-inch tires, a 36-gallon gas tank, upgraded suspension with Fox shock absorbers, and six upfitter switches. The Raptor R brings a couple of notable upgrades, such as bigger 37-inch tires with beadlock wheels, as well as further suspension upgrades.
2024 Ford F-150 Raptor Release Date and Price
We expect that the updated 2024 Ford F-150 Raptor and Raptor R models will arrive sometime in the second half of the year. Bigger pricing changes shouldn’t happen, so the base Raptor should go around $79.000, while the Raptor R should cost around $110.000.
