2024 Dodge Barracuda: All-Electric Resurrection on the Way?

It looks like Dodge plans a big renaissance of muscle cars for the new, all-electric age. The all-electric Charger Daytona concept has just been presented, while a similar scenario is expected with the Challenger. However, Dodge won’t stop on these two legends. It looks like there is one more iconic nameplate to be revived, the legendary Barracuda. Allegedly, the revival could happen already in the next year, with the 2024 Dodge Barracuda.

At this point, we still don’t know much about the revival. It would happen after several decades and the new model wouldn’t have many things in common with the older generations. IT would compete in the EV muscle car concept, where other icons are expected to end up as well.

As we’ve just mentioned, the 2024 Dodge Barracuda details are still unknown but we could make some conclusions. First of all, we presume that the new model would be built on the same new EV platform as the Charger. It would use the same battery technology and maybe even the same powertrain configurations.

On the other hand, the key difference would be the size. The Barracuda would also come as a 2-door sports coupe (maybe also as a convertible), but it would be smaller. It would feature a compact design, with the intention to compete with a compact sports car. Still, that wouldn’t change its configuration and we would once again see a four-seater. We will get on that in a minute.

As we’ve just mentioned, the 2024 Dodge Barracuda would be slightly smaller than the Charger. Still, we don’t believe it could sacrifice too much of its space. Instead, we believe it would come in a familiar configuration. Back in the day, the Barracuda was a typical muscle car, with a coupe and convertible body styles with two rows of seats. So, we don’t have a reason to believe that this one could be any different.

On the other hand, where we might see some differences in approach is the dashboard design. We might see a typical approach that characterizes the new generations of electric cars, with minimalistic and clean layouts, the lack of physical controls, and dominated by a massive infotainment screen.

This aspect is still a mystery, but if we consider that the platform will be shared with the Charger, there is no doubt that many parts and design solutions will be shared. This particularly refers to the recently presented, very interesting design solutions such as sound speakers that emulate the engine sound, along with the transmission with multiple gears, which will try to recreate the genuine feel of ICE cars, in order to attract more enthusiasts.

When it comes to the exact configuration, details are still unknown. Some sources suggest we could see the same configurations that were announced in Charger. In that case, base versions would feature a setup with 455 horsepower, while the more powerful setup would offer 590 horsepower. Finally, we could see a high-performance variant with the SRT badge.

Details about the battery capacity are still unavailable, but the company recently announced that the most capable Charger will be able to make around 500 miles on a single charger. Since the 2024 Dodge Barracuda would be smaller, it would probably feature a smaller battery, which would translate into a little bit shorter range.

The 2024 Dodge Barracuda is still just a rumor but these rumors suggest it could arrive already in the next year. If this happens, we estimate that the base models could go around 50.000 dollars.
