The much more attractive 2023 Kia Niro will try to conquer a mid-size segment in North America this summer. As far as we know, the new model will be featuring many benefits compared to its predecessor. Officially, it will be available as a hybrid, plug-in hybrid and fully electric version. Beside engines, the forthcoming model will be reportedly slightly larger than the older ones, about 2.5-in (~6 cm).

We can expect many upgrades inside as well, including the more high-quality materials, large 10.3-in (~26 cm) touchscreen, and digital gauge cluster. Moreover, the manufacturer also added more driver-assistance features, and the Niro now includes blind-spot monitoring and pedestrian detection.

2023 Kia Niro Design

The exterior design of the 2023 Kia Niro is very handsome. On top of that, all mentioned versions are slightly larger than the older ones of about 2.5-in (~6 cm). But none of this gets your attention as the “aero blade“ that’s visible behind the C-Pillar.

This chevron-shaped body panel stretching from roof to wheel, and it stands out from the rest of the body thanks to large air vent. The new Niro definitively looks more attractive than before, and it borrows a bit of the sharpened nose of the all-electric Kia EV6 hatchback.

Modern Cabin

Inside, the forthcoming 2023 Kia Niro looks more modern than ever. This crossover, considering its larger body, offers roomier interior. The comfort is guaranteed, and the Niro has enough room to place five passengers in two rows. Unlike the outgoing model, the new one also looks richer in technology.

It features a 10.3-in (~26 cm) touchscreen placed in the center and a digital gauge cluster. Kia claims that the driver-assistance features are better as well, and the Niro now includes blind-spot monitoring and pedestrian detection as standard.

2023 Kia Niro Engine Options

As we said, the new 2023 Kia Niro will be available as a hybrid (HEV), a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and a battery electric vehicle (BEV). According to Kia, the fully electric car is the best option providing 253-mile range, which is slightly longer than the 239-mile range of the outgoing model. Also, they claim that the BEV will have a 201 hp motor and a 64.8 kWh battery that can be charged from 10% to 80% in 45 minutes.

The standard hybrid has a 139-hp powertrain and is expected to have a 588-mile range with combined gas and hybrid system. The plug-in hybrid HEV should be able to travel on solely electric power for up to 33 miles on a single charge. Compared to its predecessor, this is an improvement of about 25%.

2023 Kia Niro Price, Release Date

Unfortunately, at the time of writing this post, Kia didn’t reveal any information about the price of new Niro model. The current crossover starts at $24,690 for the base LX model, while LXS is $26,090, and LXS SE costs $27,590.

The Touring SE model cost $29,890, while the top EX Premium trim is $31,990. As you can see, the pricing is similar to the Toyota Prius, which is $24,525. We expect the new 2023 Kia Niro to come in North America this summer.
