The new 2023 Jeep Wrangler compact SUV will reportedly arrive next year, featuring some refreshments. This iconic model is very well known worldwide thanks to its off-road capabilities. On top of that, it looks unique with a military-inspired aesthetic and is also available as the 4-door Unlimited model. In general, the 4-door model is more popular than the 2-door model, which is more traditional. The last generation of the Jeep Wrangler was introduced in 2018, and since then, it has received a couple of updates. We expect the 2023 model to be a carryover deploying the same engine as well.

It’s available with five engines options, including a base 3.6-liter V6, 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4, 3.0-liter V6 EcoDiesel, 6.4-liter V8, and plug-in hybrid eTorque system.

Will Jeep Ever Redesign the Wrangler?

In terms of exterior, the 2023 Jeep Wrangler will keep the same lines as its predecessor. However, the traditional look will get some refreshments, mainly on the front end. Indeed, this is one of the most iconic vehicles in the world, and Jeep doesn’t want to change the formula drastically. As with the prior generation, this model will be available to choose in two forms. There is a  2-door model and a 4-door.

Dimensionally, the 2-door model is 166.8 inches long, while the 4-door Unlimited model is around 20 inches longer. Both models feature the same boxy design that dates to the Jeep’s WW II ancestors. However, the manufacturer also offers a Wrangler 4xe model with attractive blue exterior graphics. The High Altitude 4xe Wranglers and Rubicon trims are the most recognized models thanks to the  Electric Blue front and rear tow hooks, along with blue-highlighted badging.

Cabin Changes

Inside, we don’t expect some significant changes compared to the previous model. The new 2023 Jeep Wrangler has total seating for either four or five passengers depending on the model. The 2-door Jeep Wrangler can hold four people in total, while the more popular 4-door Jeep Wrangler Unlimited is more family-friendly with a total capacity of five passengers.

The longer 4-door Wrangler also offers better rear-seat legroom and cargo room behind. On the technology side, the new Wrangler will probably continue with the same dash that will host larger center screens. The current model’s infotainment display ranges in size from 5 to 8.4 inches. However, from many reports, the next model will finally get Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support. It should also share many cues with the upcoming Jeep Grand Wagoneer.

2023 Jeep Wrangler Under the Hood

The new 2023 Jeep Wrangler will likely to come with the same lineup of engines. As you may know, this off-roader is available with five engines. The base one uses a 3.6-liter V6 producing 285 horsepower, while optionally, you can get a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine with 270 horsepower or 3.0-liter V6 EcoDiesel that makes 260 horses. Also, a more powerful 6.4-liter V8 is available as well, and it develops 470 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque.

The last one is a PHEV unit that consists of 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 + electric motors (Wrangler 4xe). With this combination, the Wrangler produces a total of 375 horses and 470 lb-ft. Unlike the rest of the engines, this one is the most efficient, with 49 MPGe combined.

2023 Jeep Wrangler Release Date, Price

The release date of the new 2023 Jeep Wrangler will probably happen sometime next year. If we look at previous debuts, we can expect this model to appear in the summertime. The next Wrangler is a carryover model, so the price will probably remain in the same range.

The current base 2-door model starts at $28,000, while the more popular 4-door Wrangler Unlimited is around $32,000. However, if your pocket is deep, you can go for the limited-edition 4-door Rubicon 392 that costs $80,000.
