2023 GMC Sierra 2500HD

If you’re seeking for a truck with an outstanding capability, strong turbo-diesel V8 with 10-speed, then consider the new 2023 GMC Sierra 2500HD an ideal choice. This truck is much bigger and more capable than the Sierra 1500. Thanks to that, it can do some serious towing. It also has a few things which made it a tough competitor in this segment compared to rivals such as the Ford Super Duty and the Ram Heavy Duty models.

The pinnacle on offer is definitively the off-road-oriented AT4 model and the luxurious Denali trim. When it comes to engines, this truck comes with a 6.6-liter gas-powered V8 producing 401 horsepower and 464 lb-ft of torque. This engine is upgradable, and you can get a more potent 6.6-liter Duramax turbodiesel V8, which produces 445 hp and a whopping 910 lb-ft of torque.

Is the new 2023 GMC Sierra 2500HD Reliable?

The answer is yes. The exterior styling of the 2023 GMC Sierra 2500HD is rugged yet premium. This truck features an attractive front end, which has received the same treatment as the lighter 1500 Sierra model. First of all, it has straight lines, traditional profile, trailering mirrors, a side bed step, and it looks more upscale than the typical truck. As on many models, the look of this truck can change quite a bit depending on trim levels.

The Denali model is among favorite models, and it has a flashy chrome grille and unique wheels. The AT4 model is also a great option which brings more black exterior accents, red tow hooks, and a taller ride height.

Roomy Interior

Inside, the 2023 GMC Sierra 2500HD is more upscale than the average truck. The design is modern, functional, and with a premium feel, especially in the higher trims. However, like the model before, the new truck offers plenty of roomy in the front seats, especially the Crew Cab model.

As standard, the GMC Sierra 2500HD includes a 7-inch touchscreen with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, a backup camera, and Bluetooth connectivity. If you want a more luxury truck, you should check out the Ram HD, Ford Super Duty, or the Chevy Silverado HD.

2023 GMC Sierra 2500HD Engine Specs

Under the hood, the 2023 GMC Sierra 2500HD is available with two engine options. Just like the previous generation, the new truck uses the same standard engine that consists of a 6.6-liter gas-powered V8 producing 401 horsepower and 464 lb-ft of torque. Apart from the standard engine, buyers can also get a more powerful 6.6-liter Duramax turbodiesel V8, which has a higher torque rating and maximum towing and payload capacities. This variant produces 445 hp and a whopping 910 lb-ft of torque.

According to GMC, the gas V8 can tow up to 18,500 pounds and has a maximum payload capacity of 3,863 pounds. However, a more powerful Duramax V8 with a dual-rear-wheel configuration can tow up to 36,000 pounds or haul up to 6,610 pounds.
