The new 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 will be introduced later this year and is expected to be a carryover. After undergoing a total refresh inside and out last year, the manufacturer decided to add more features inside. However, the exterior of the upcoming truck will largely remain unchanged with the same robust styling.

As you probably know, the GMC Sierra was introduced in 2019 and is still a relatively new model. Anyway, demand for a pickup truck is higher than ever, and GMC has upped its game unveiling the new Denali Ultimate and AT4X trims. However, Chevy as the main rival will answer with its new Silverado ZR2, which delivers great off-road capability.

2023 GMC Sierra 1500 Redesign

The Sierra’s exterior is very eye-catching thanks to many modifications that the manufacturer did last year. They added a new grille and updated LED headlights that are slimmer and more expressive this time.

You can get this pickup as Regular Cab, Double Cab, and Crew Cab configurations. Regular Cab is available with a standard box or long box, while Double Cab is offered with a standard box only. The Crew Cab is the most favorite and has a short box or a standard box.

Interior Upgrades

Inside, the 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 offers great comfort and is very modern. Still, it cannot match the Ram’s 1500 model. However, seats are very supportive even during a long ride, and the new GMC Sierra 1500 is able to fit five passengers. In general, cabin is very spacious, offering more than we think.

The Denali Ultimate is the favorite because it comes loaded with a luxury 13.4-inch touchscreen, 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, leather seating, wood trim, massaging front seats, and the Super Cruise hands-free driving system. Head-Up Display is updated last year, and GMC added a large 15-inch diagonal multi-color display.

2023 GMC Sierra 1500 Engine Specs

Under the hood, we don’t expect any changes at all. So, the forthcoming 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 will likely to use the same turbocharged 2.7-liter 4-cylinder 310 horsepower, a 3.0-liter turbodiesel inline-6 that produces 277 horsepower, a 5.3-liter V8 with output of 355 horsepower, and a 6.2-liter V8 delivering 420 horsepower.

As you can see, buyers have many options to choose, even GMC engineers tuned the turbo 4-cylinder engine to produce significantly more torque than before. The highlight is definitively its towing capacity, which can go up to 13,200 pounds with a turbodiesel engine.

2023 GMC Sierra 1500 Price, Release Date

From information that’s available, the all-new 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 will be available to reserved later this year. We generally expected it to hit showrooms sometime in 2023, with pricing starting at $34,190 for the base model. It’s worth mentioning that the price also includes a $1,695 destination fee.

The most favorite Denali Ultimate and AT4X trims should be available as well, and both are more off-road-oriented. The new GMC Sierra as the outgoing model will compete in the full-size pickup truck field, where rivals such as the Chevy Silverado, Ford F-150, Ram 1500, Toyota Tundra, and Nissan Titan dominates.
