The new 2023 GMC Hummer EV is the upcoming pickup truck that will make a comeback next year as an all-electric model. The resurrected Hummer looks better than ever and is very eye-catching. According to GMC, this electric variant is quite the beast thanks to three electric motors. From the latest statement, the Hummer EV can deliver 1000 horsepower.

On top of that, it comes with excellent battery capacity offering an estimated range of 350 miles per charge. We can expect this model to arrive next year as a potential rival to the upcoming Rivian, Bollinger, Tesla Cybertruck, as well as established Ford F-150 Lightning.

2023 GMC Hummer EV First Look

The exterior design of the upcoming 2023 GMC Hummer EV is rugged and classy. In general, it’s not odd as the Tesla Cybertruck, but it describes the best of it. First of all, the exterior is attractive, and it incorporates lots of interesting features.

We like the massive front facia and the double headlights that serve as charge indicators. Also, if you didn’t notice, there is a small American flag hidden near the mid-section of the truck where the roof and body meet. At the back, the Hummer EV uses GMC’s super-trick MultiPro tailgate, which can fold all the way down, resulting in easier towing.

Technology and Cabin Design

The 2023 Hummer EV’s cabin looks spacious and is very similar to GMC’s Sierra crew cab pickup truck. Like on the Jeep Gladiator model, the interior can be opened via a novel removable roof. Overall, the cabin is modern, and it features some advanced technology.

Stepping in, you’ll first notice a large 13.4-inch display that serves as the infotainment screen and a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel as well. GMC has also added plenty of standard equipment in the Hummer EV. It included Apple CarPlay/Android Auto capability, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and also an GM’s OnStar telematics system. On top of that, the Hummer EV includes 18 cameras mounted outside the vehicle to help drivers navigate obstacles and place wheels on and off the trail.

2023 GMC Hummer EV Powertrain Specs

The only powertrain that we know so far available in the Hummer EV is a setup with three electric motors. Motors are powerful, and they deliver 1000 horsepower and a dubious 11,500 lb-ft torque figure. All-wheel drive should be standard, and GMC can run from the zero-to-60-mph in 3.0 seconds. However, speaking of towing and payload, the new Hummer EV will be competitive with the Tesla Cybertruck and Rivian’s R1T and R1S models.

That means Hummer EV would need to boast towing capacity of between 7500 and 11,000 pounds to stay competitive. GMC added an Ultium battery-pack technology, boasting an estimated 350 miles of driving range as per charge. Moreover, this truck will also have an 800-volt electrical architecture with 350-kilowatt fast-charging capability, providing 100 miles of range in just 10 minutes.

Release Date, Price

The debut of the new 2023 GMC Hummer EV is set for the next year. Probably, it will arrive in the second half of the same year.

The new truck is equipped with three electric motors, producing 1000 horses and an estimated 350 miles of driving range. As for the price, from many reports, it should cost less than $80k.
