The 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning is America’s most awaited pickup truck that will surely lure many buyers when it goes on sale sometime this year. As the regular F-150, the new Lighting shares much of the cues, including body and cabin. However, considering that it is all-electric, the manufacturer replaced the truck’s gasoline-powered V-6 and V-8 engine options for a pair of electric motors.

Also, according to Blue Oval, the forthcoming model will be available in two different battery packs. The Standard-Range battery should deliver up to 230 miles per charge, while Extended-Range could offer up to 320 miles. By the time the F-150 Lightning reaches the market, it won’t be the only all-electric pickup truck in the market. GMC’s Hummer EV SUT is close to its launch, just like the Rivian R1T. However, neither of those trucks can match the new F-150 Lighting model in many things.

Unlike the regular F-150, the 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning looks way attractive. This pickup truck dominates obviously in the front end, featuring LED strip lights going across the hood and connecting the LED headlight units. The Lariat trim, on the other hand, has its own grille treatments, making it more unique. Nevertheless, buyers who go for the Pro model will get 18-inch alloy wheels, while the XLT features 20-inch alloys finished in Dark Carbonized Gray.

Platinum trim is the pinnacle on offer, and it comes with 2-tone bright aluminum/black 22-inch alloys. Interestingly, the Ford F-150 Lightning has a very large front trunk, measuring about 14 cubic feet. In general, it can hold a couple of golf bags or 400 pounds of payload.

Modern Interior

Inside, the 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning looks really techy and modern. This truck is also very spacious, and it can fit five passengers comfortably. According to reports, we can expect this truck to be offered only as a crew-cab with a 5.5-foot bed. However, Ford could also offer Regular (two-door) or SuperCab (rear half-doors) configurations later on as the long-bed option.

Unlike the regular F-150 model, the forthcoming Lightning model comes with a large 12.0- inch touchscreen infotainment system with Ford’s latest Sync 4 software as standard. Also, choosing either the Lariat or Platinum models, customers can expect an even larger 15.0-inch display. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, in-dash navigation, and a Wi-Fi hotspot.

The new 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning is an all-electric pickup that comes standard with two electric motors and all-wheel drive. As we mentioned, this model features two battery options.

The standard-Range battery combine delivers 426 horsepower and 230 miles per charge, while the Extended-Range battery impressive 563 and 775 pound-feet. The more powerful version also offers 320 miles on a single charge, which is excellent. All-wheel drive is standard, and this pickup can tow up to 10,000 pounds.

2023 Ford F-150 Lightning Price, Release Date

The new 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning from the recent report will be available in six different trims. The base Pro starts at $41,000, XLT at $54,000, Lariat at $69,000, XLT Extended Range from about $74,000, Lariat Extended range at $79,000, and the most expensive Platinum Extended range from $92,000. According to the manufacturer, we can expect this impressive truck to go on sale sometime this year as the 2023 model.
