The production of the upcoming full-size SUV 2023 Chevy Tahoe will start on October 4th of this year. From the information that we got, the next-generation Tahoe will receive some significant updates. Firstly, we should expect a more attractive design, followed by a more comfortable cabin.

Along with this model, the manufacturer will also produce Suburban SUV at the same GM Arlington plant in Texas. Interestingly, both models will ride on the T1 platform, which underpins the newer Chevy Silverado, GMC Sierra, and the Cadillac Escalade luxury SUV. Judging from the latest statistics, in Q1 2021, the manufacturer sold 23,038 units of the Tahoe and 11,143 units in the United States, which is pretty good.

Is the Upcoming 2023 Chevy Tahoe a Reliable SUV?

The answer is a definitive yes. This full-size sporty utility vehicle is one of the most reliable that you can find on the market. Moreover, the new 2023 Chevy Tahoe is in the works, and it should bring much more eye-catching styling. From the latest information, the new SUV is over half a foot longer than the previous model. It measures now 210.7 inches. However, the new Tahoe retains the traditional boxy shape with a big grille. It also has a better appearance, housings distinctive boomerang-shaped running lights, and standard LED headlights.

All Tahoe models except the base LS come with a power-operated, hands-free tailgate as standard. The Tahoe RST model is available as well and is more street-inspired. This variant offers more blacked-out aesthetics and big 22-inch wheels. However, if you’re looking for an off-road-oriented SUV, then the Tahoe Z71 is the ideal choice. This model has a unique front fascia, plus a front skidplate and distinctive red tow hooks.

Cabin With Up to 8 People on Board

With seating for up to 8 people on board, the 2023 Chevy Tahoe is one of the rarest full-size SUVs in the segment. This model offers a spacious cabin that is among other direct rivals like the Ford Expedition, Nissan Armada, and Toyota Sequoia. The current model is still fresh from a total makeover last year, and expect the new one to offer more cargo room and plenty of new amenities. Cargo space has grown substantially, and there is a class-leading 25.5 cubic feet behind the rear seats.

Significant enhancements might also include more standard fitment like blind-spot monitoring or wireless device charging. Like before, the Tahoe will be available in six trims: LS, LT, RST, Z71, Premier, and High Country. Even the least-expensive trim offers a 10-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, and 6-speaker audio system.

2023 Chevy Tahoe Engine Specs

Like the Suburban model, the new 2023 Chevy Tahoe uses the same 5.3-liter V8 gasoline engine as standard. This unit produces 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. Alongside this engine, the manufacturer also offers a potent 6.2 liter V8 exclusive to the range-topping High Country trim level. Unlike the first one, this delivers a fantastic output of 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque.

Alternatively, you can get Z71 trim and the 3.0-liter turbodiesel Duramax, which produces 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. It’s worth noting that this diesel engine is also fitted to other vehicles in the segment. All three engines above will use a new GM’s Hydra-Matic 10L80 10-speed automatic transmission and Rear-wheel-drive as standard, while four-wheel-drive is optional on the remaining trim levels.

How Much Will the New 2023 Chevy Tahoe Cost?

As GM Authority exclusively reported, the new 2023 Chevy Tahoe should be introduced later in the year, while sales could start next year. Interestingly, the current generation accounted six percent increase in sales as of April 2021.

As for the pricing, we should expect a slight increase considering the number of updates. The current Tahoe ranges from the basic LS that starts near $49,000, to the new luxury-like high country around $70,000.
