The all-new full-size 2023 Audi Q9 has been spied recently, and we finally got some renderings of the upcoming model. Audi confirms that this SUV will be the next flagship, sitting between the popular Q7 and new Q8 models. Unlike both mentioned SUVs, the forthcoming Audi Q9 features numerous changes and a sloped roof that makes it look sportier. To be fair, it looks more attractive thanks to a new headlight graphics and overall shape.
As far as we know, the Audi Q9 will also have a comfier cabin than the sporty Q8. The model is rumored to use a modified version of the MQB platform, which also underpinnings VW Atlas. If true, it could be powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that produces 235-hp and 3.6-liter V6 that’s capable of making 276-hp.
2023 Audi Q9 First Look
After a turbulent week and first spy shots of the upcoming 2023 Audi Q9, we have our first look at renderings. First of all, the upcoming full-size SUV could become the flagship model, considering its styling and proportions. As we said, the Q9 will likely ride on a modified MQB platform, which should bring many benefits. In case you didn’t know, on the same platform sits the VW Atlas SUV.
No doubt, the Q9 looks more attractive than any Audi’s vehicle so far. We like its front end that includes a huge grille, eye-catchy headlight with a new graphic, and hood with sporty lines. Interestingly, there is also one rendering which shows the back of this SUV. It reveals a clear rear end with new taillights that are very similar to the ones we saw on the newest Audi A7 sedan.
Interior for Everyone
Audi has spent decades developing a reputation for crafting quality interiors. So, we can only imagine what the new 2023 Audi Q9 will introduce. As the brand’s flagship SUV, we assume that it will provide no less techy cabin compared to the Q8. This model offers attractive design, high-quality materials, and user-friendly tech features.
For the infotainment system, the manufacturer used multiple screens on which the main one is a 10.1-inch screen for phone connectivity, navigation, and audio. A 8.6-inch lower screen is also present, and it is made for climate control, as well as for hand-written commands. However, unlike the Q8 that comes with 2-rows of seats, the new Audi Q9 could offer 3-rows of seats for up to seven.
2023 Audi Q9 Engine Options
As we said, the 2023 Audi Q9 is the upcoming SUV that will likely ride on the modified MQB platform as the VW Atlas. Considering that, it might also borrow the same engines as well. This means we can expect 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that makes 235-hp and 3.6-liter V6 with output of 276-hp. Both engines are expected to be paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission and either front or all-wheel drive.
2023 Audi Q9 Release Date, Price
Reports say that the new 2023 Audi Q9 will be available sometime next year. Unfortunately, at this point, we don’t have information on whether this model will be sold in Europe or in the U.S. Also, no launch date has been officially confirmed for this large crossover.
However, considering the Q8 is sold for $70,300, the forthcoming flagship would not cost less than 75,000. In the same ballpark are American premium luxury SUVs such as the Cadillac Escalade and the Lincoln Navigator.
