As for the transmissions, the base unit will continue to use CVT, while more powerful comes with an 8-speed automatic providing lessen engine droning.
Hybrid System
From the latest news, Outback Hybrid might use a 2.0-liter engine and electric motor sending power to 4WD. However, real and official Outputs are unknown yet. Expect this model to provide a better fuel economy than the turbocharger units and great mileage.
Cost and Debut
The base 2022 Subaru Outback will probably start at $27,000. As you can see, this price is slightly higher than most of its competition. The most expensive version Touring will easily reach $37,500.
