One of the most popular crossover SUVs in Europe, the 2022 Nissan Qashqai, is finally riding on the new platform. According to Nissan, the redesigned version of Qashqai will reach dealers in a few months.
If you didn’t know, this model is also available in the US, hides by the different name Nissan Rogue. For 2022, the manufacturer will add more fancy features, including a V-motion grille and thin LED matrix headlights. Also, expect a more modern and spacious cabin with plenty of standard equipment.
2022 Nissan Qashqai Redesign
The 2022 Nissan Qashqai’s bodywork will be entirely unchanged compared to Rogue Sport. Moreover, both models shares the same CMF-C platform and many elements. First of all, we like Nissan’s latest design language, and thanks to that, the Qashqai combines various styling details from other Nissan’s models. This SUV features a new V-motion grille, C-shaped LED Matrix headlights, and a tailgate that is made of 50 percent more high-strength steel used than before.
However, balance is achieved with a hood and front fenders that are built from aluminum. As you can see, Nissan shaves off weight in some areas. Besides, both axles’ suspensions are better and consist of a Macpherson strut.
Thanks to its reshaped body, the forthcoming Nissan Qashqai will also increase the front and rear headroom. According to Nissan, the Qashqai should bring a bump in size as a result of stretched wheelbase. In additional, will be more practical, with more cargo capacity than its predecessor.
Unlike the previous generation, the upcoming one has better materials inside, more soft-touch surfaces, and a new Nappa leather design. However, in terms of technology, the Qashqai SUV features a major upgrade. Interestingly, Nissan added a new 12.3-inch fully digital driver’s display and a nine-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system. Fancier version, the Rogue Sport comes with a 10.8-inch head-up display and a 10-speaker Bose sound system.
2022 Nissan Qashqai Engine Changes
According to Nissan, the forthcoming Qashqai relies on a turbocharged 1.3-liter engine with assistance from a 12-volt mild-hybrid system. This model comes standard with FWD, but an all-wheel drive is available as well.
Perhaps the most exciting news is that that the manufacturer will, for the first time, introduce an E-Power model that pairs a 1.5-liter engine with an electric motor. For sure, this engine will provide more outputs than the Rogue Sport model’s cheaper 2.0-liter four-cylinder gas engine that generates and 141-hp. Expect Nissan to share more information about the redesigned Nissan Qashqai in the coming weeks or months.
