The head of the GT-R program, Hiroshi Tamura, gave us some hints about the eagerly awaited model. The recent post reveals that the next GT-R will look sportier and it will follow the same path as the concept Nissan Vision Gran Turismo.

Thanks to this sentence, we can assume drastically changes on the next-gen 2022 Nissan GT-R. Most likely, the new sporty car will get revised front and rear facia. With that we mean, new grille, sharper headlights, and use of lighter materials. Moreover, recent comments made by some high-ranking people in Nissan, suggesting that the next sports model will including electric power options, handling upgrades, and maybe even independent driving ability.

Cabin Will be More Comfortable and Sporty

The 2022 Nissan GT-R will host a very comfortable interior. From many speculations, the upcoming model might use the same layout as before. The current model offers comfortable seats, especially in Nismo trim. Most likely, the latest GT-R will be available with the same trim levels. As you probably know, this high-performance coupe is available in Premium, Track Edition, and Nismo trim levels.

The low entry model includes an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated front seats/side mirrors, dual-zone automatic climate control, 3-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel with lap-timer switch, Nissan Connect infotainment touch screen with navigation, Apple CarPlay smartphone integration, and an 11-speaker Bose audio system. However, jumping to trims Track Edition and Nismo, buyers can fully enjoy in comfortable Recaro seats, hand-stitched semi-aniline leather upholstery, and plenty of high-tech. Unlike the previous model that is available without driver aids, the next model will most likely finally get adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, etc.

How Fast Is the Nissan GT-R?

Performance-wise, we are still waiting for more information regarding the engine of the upcoming 2022 Nissan GT-R. Many believe that the same powertrain might be used. As you probably know, the GT-R comes with powerful twin-turbo 3.8-liter V-6 that can produce 562 hp at 6,800 rpm. This powertrain is using a six-speed dual-clutch automatic. Moreover, thanks to this combination, GT-R is able to accelerate to 62 miles in just 2,9 seconds and it can reach 195 miles top speed.
