Nissan’s new Frontier pickup truck is on the way. According to the first leaked photos, the forthcoming 2022 Nissan Frontier will finally get a complete overhaul. However, consider that the leaked image doesn’t provide many details, we managed to dig some of the important information.
First of all, the new pickup truck will look refreshed, and it will receive plenty of modifications. Like the previous model, the new one will deploy the same 3.8-liter V6 producing 310 horsepower engine. This engine uses a 9-speed automatic transmission and FWD as standard. If you didn’t know, this unit is for the first time introduced under the current model.
2022 Nissan Frontier Design
The first photos of the 2022 Nissan Frontier leaked yesterday. If you didn’t know, this model was spied camouflaged months ago. However, the new batch of photos reveals many changes that we saw on the spied model. First of all, there are two Frontiers seen in these photos. The white model is probably the base one, featuring thick chrome bezels outlining the new grille. Moreover, on the back, the new Frontier looks more giant than the Nissan Titan. It also features wider taillights and different shapes.
However, the next image reveals a more sporty model that wears beefier tires, more chrome, and a front brush bar. We are pretty sure that this version is a PRO-4X.
What Do We Know About Interior?
There’s not much we know about the interior of the 2022 Nissan Frontier. What’s for sure is that Nissan will update its design and material quality. Also, outdated plastic elements will be replaced, and more features will be offered. Based on spy photos taken just a month ago before the leaked image, we saw that the next Frontier would continue to be provided as an extended cab.
Obviously, Frontier will try to keep up with the other challengers in the same class in terms of techs. That means it will feature a new or updated infotainment system and more standard features than the current generation. We heard that at least 8.0 inches would be offered alongside Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. After all, all of these features are available on the full-size Nissan Titan pickup.
2022 Nissan Frontier Powertrain Specs
The upcoming 2022 Nissan Frontier will deploy once again a relatively fresh engine. This model is available with only one powertrain setup. This is a huge disappointment because many rivals in the midsize segment offer two or even three options.
By the way, this model consists of a 3.8-liter V6 powertrain that delivers great performance and 310 horsepower. As the current model, most likely that the new-gen model will use the same 9-speed automatic transmission. Thanks to this configuration, this unit is EPA rated 18/24 mpg (rear-wheel drive) and 17/23 mpg (4-wheel drive).
Release Date and Price
The new photo of the forthcoming 2022 Nissan Frontier has just emerged on almost every website about cars. At first look, the design is much better, and plenty of refreshments are evident.
Nissan didn’t reveal Frontier’s release date and price, but we heard that it might arrive in the summer of 2021. The current model starts at $26,790 for the King cab and $27,900 for the Crew cab. At the top end, the off-road PRO-4X Crew cab starts at $37,490.
