The spy photos of the 2022 Mercedes C-Class are finally available. As we can see, the next-generation Mercedes C-Class looks refreshed and more attractive. The annoying camouflage that we saw last time is finally coming off, revealing many changes and updates.
Interestingly, the redesigned model features more changes that we saw on the previous one. The body is almost completely exposed, and C-Class comes with a much cleaner design. Overall, it features an elegantly shaped body, and it hosts the same front as the facelifted E-Class. The latest C-class will most likely continue to use the same 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine as the outgoing model.
2022 Mercedes C-Class Exterior
The latest 2022 Mercedes C-Class finally drops a heavy camo, revealing plenty of improvements. Unlike the predecessor, the new model sits on an updated MRA platform.
The C-Class’s front is partially exposed, featuring headlights’ familiar shape, derived from recent CLS and S-Class models. The front grille is also refreshed, but very little, compared to the outgoing model. As for the side profile, it’s completely exposed. Generally, it reveals a much cleaner design and some sportier lines. On the back, the design remains almost intact, with the same taillights that extend onto the trunk lid.
Interior Looks Luxurious
The new 2022 Mercedes C-Class looks much modern inside. The spy photo reveals many new features. A sizeable vertically-oriented center touchscreen of 12.8-inch is the highlight of this model. As you probably know, the same display is present on the brand’s new flagship S-class sedan. Besides the screen, the C-Class will undoubtedly feature the latest version of Mercedes’s MBUX system, standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and online access via a Wi-Fi hotspot.
Powered By the Same Engine as the Current Model
The recently spied 2022 C-class will most likely continue to use the same 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine. This engine is very potent and can deliver 255-hp. However, we don’t know if the new model will get some output boost, but many believe it will. Moreover, one is sure, C-Class will come with rear-wheel drive as standard, while all-wheel drive will likely remain an option.
The EPA hasn’t yet rated fuel efficiency for the 2022 C-class, but we think it shouldn’t deviate too much from the outgoing model. The current C-Class provides 23 mpg city and 33 mpg highway. Besides, many speculated that it might also get some of the existing hybrid engines.
2022 Mercedes C-Class Release Date and Price
The new 2022 Mercedes C-Class prototype has been capture on cameras recently, and it promises, on the first look. It features better styling compared to the outgoing model and deploys the same powertrain. Mercedes revealed that the next-generation would also bring more standard features and some of the new technology as the E-Class.
Although we don’t have official information, we expect Mercedes to offer the C-class in a coupe and convertible body styles. The word-premiere of Mercedes C-Class has been scheduled for the next year, and we can expect more news in the coming months.
