The new 2022 Mazda CX-5 could get a replacement for the next year. According to the latest news, the forthcoming model might come with a different name. Many reports are suggesting that the next-gen model will be called CX-50.

The Mazda CX-5 Carbon Edition will surely be offered as well. This model is distinguished by the Polymetal Gray paint, a black metallic grille, black mirror caps, and black 19-inch alloy wheels. However, the regular model is just behind it, especially when it comes in the Soul Red Crystal color.

Inside, we can expect some small updates for 2022YM. The least expensive 2022 Mazda CX-5 Sport model could feature more upscale materials. New CX-5 Touring Preferred SV will bring more amenities. 2022 Mazda CX-5 Engine Possibilities
The latest report suggests that the forthcoming 2022 Mazda CX-5 will come with new engines. The first candidate is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder SkyActiv-G engine with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system. This unit produces 184 hp, and a turbocharged variant of this powertrain is another possibility. Also, the same source listed that the next-gen CX-5 might get a 2.2-liter diesel four-cylinder SkyActiv-D.
Sitting above these four-cylinder engines may be a new 3.0-liter inline-six with the latest SkyActiv-X technology. This model will most likely come as a 48-volt mild-hybrid system. Lastly, a more powerful 3.3-liter inline-six diesel may also be on the cards.
Release Date and Price
As mentioned, the upcoming 2022 Mazda CX-5 might be introduced shortly as the CX-50 model. The aforementioned report revealed that the next generation would gain a more attractive look and plenty of upgrades inside. From the information that is circulating, the new CX-5 might be released alongside a redesigned CX-3 model in June 2021.
Otherwise, price is not year available, but consider the new engines, we can expect a slight price increase. The current base model that uses the FWD system starts at $25,270, while the top trim Signature reaches almost the 40k mark.
