One of the largest SUVs on the market is definitively the 2022 Kia Telluride. It looks massive, and it features one of the spacious cabins in the class. On top of that, this model offers three rows of seats and enough room for up to eight passengers to sit comfortably. In the midsize class are many models, and the new Telluride is looking to challenge some of the most popular family SUVs around, such as the Honda Pilot, Toyota Highlander, and Ford Explorer.

However, like the outgoing version, the new one should use the same sole powerplant. It comes with a 3.8-liter V6 mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission producing 291 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque.

Kia continues to offer handsome vehicles, and the Telluride is wearing one of the rugged yet elegant design. The first thing you’ll notice looking at the new 2022 Kia Telluride is its boxy appearance. Unlike many SUVs on the market, the Telluride is more rounded, and it looks more like a minivan. It`s recognized by its tiger-nose grille, featuring an elegant chrome finish across the top and bottom.

Unlike the base model, the SX trim features a ring of orange LEDs [around the headlights], resulting in a more dramatic look. The new Telluride also rolls on 18-inch wheels, while 20-inchers are optional or standard on upper trims. The Nightfall Edition is available as well, optionally on the EX and SX trims, giving the Telluride an aggressive tone with blacked-out elements.

The redesigned 2022 Kia Telluride looks attractive inside, and it offers three rows of seating. Basically, there is room for either eight or seven passengers. For 2022, the manufacturer made some changes adding more better materials and more technology through trims. Generally, the new Kia Telluride has one of the roomiest cabins in its class. On top of that, folding rear rows, it opens 87 cubic feet of cargo capacity. Like its predecessor, the new SUV is available in four trims: LX, S, EX, and SX. Even a base version is quite well equipped. The standard package includes Sofino synthetic leather upholstery, rear-passenger air conditioning, 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a 6-speaker audio system with five USB inputs throughout.

However, more amenities can be found by choosing the top-line Telluride SX trim. This model comes with dual sunroofs, a 10-speaker Harman Kardon premium audio system, a surround-view monitor, and a 7-inch digital panel in the instrument cluster.


The Telluride also has an impressive level of standard safety. This SUV offers a forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, and adaptive cruise control with stop and go. Blind-spot monitoring and also rear cross-traffic alert are included as well.

Under the hood, the forthcoming 2022 Kia Telluride will run on the same proven engine. It uses a sole powerplant that consists of a 3.8-liter V6 mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. The current direct-injected aluminum-block engine produces 291 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque.

However, many believe that the new model will provide at least 300 horses, which is nine horses improve over the predecessor. Obviously, Kia will use the same 8-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive as standard. Moreover, all-wheel drive is still optional.

Release Date and Price

The release date of a much more handsome 2022 Kia Telluride will most likely happen toward the end of this year. Besides some small outside refreshments, we can expect it to features more standard equipment and better materials.

The price of the forthcoming SUV will most likely remain the same, and we can expect it to starts at less than $32,000 for the base model. At the top is the SX model, starting at $42,190, which is way more than the price of the Toyota Highlander that begins at $34,600.
