The next-generation 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe has been scheduled for the next year. Reportedly, the manufacturer intends to introduce plenty of improvements and to make this SUV more competitive.
Like the recently showed Tucson for 2022, the upcoming Santa Fe will feature more drastic changes than before. From what we heard, the new design language will be applied with many new amenities inside. However, like the current model, the new one will once again come with the same layout. This model does not have 3rd-row seats, but it offers excellent cargo room and seating for five people.
2022 Hyundai Santa Fe Design
The Santa Fe for 2022 receives a visual upgrade, resulting much bolder styling. Dimensionally, this model is unchanged, but it rides on a new platform. Hyundai has also made some modifications to the front fascia, adding a revised grille and the new T-shaped LED strips.
On the other hand, the side profile is similar to the outgoing one, and SE still offers 18-inch wheels, while 19 and 20-inch wheels are available only on upper trim levels. Roof rails come standard, which is great to lure more customers. At the back, the taillight profile is also better, offering a crisp and modern shape.
Cabin Appearance
Hyundai interiors are one of the best on the market. They are known for their solid build quality and useful features. Generally, we can expect the 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe to offer even better. Unlike the previous model, the new SUV will offer various contemporary options. The 2022 model receives slight tweaks inside, and it includes more standard features. Basically, the refreshed design is aligned more closely to the larger and more luxurious Palisade SUV. However, like the previous model, the upcoming Santa Fe keeps the same ample cargo space.
Interestingly, with the rear seat folded flat, Santa Fe can stuff 18 carry-on bags. On top of that, this SUV comes with a dashboard that can host an 8.0 or 10.3-inch infotainment touchscreen. Interior is user-friendly, and every Santa Fe delivers standard wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, and optional wireless charging, and a 630-watt and 12-speaker audio system.
2022 Hyundai Santa Fe Powertrain
Last year’s Hyundai Santa Fe throws out its standard 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine, and it replaced it with the new 2.5-liter four-cylinder. This engine provides better performance, delivering 191-hp. However, this year buyers can opt for the more powerful turbocharged 2.0-liter that makes 235-hp or the turbocharged 2.5-liter mill that develops 277-hp. All engines offer an eight-speed automatic transmission, using standard front- or optional all-wheel drive.
Hybrid Model
The hybrid model is available as well, and it uses a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder and a pair of electric motors. The whole system makes 225-hp and comes standard with all-wheel drive. However, unlike the engines above, the hybrid one comes with a six-speed automatic.
2022 Hyundai Santa Fe Release Date and Price
The release date of the 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe will happen next year. Most likely that it will be introduced in the second half of 2021, while the sales might start soon after that. Like the current model, we should expect the new Santa Fe to start at $28,000. This SUV provides a more vivid driving experience than the competitors such as Chevy Blazer or Honda Passport.
