As the 10th generation of the popular Accord model reaches the middle of its lifecycle, the upcoming 2022 Honda Accord is getting a light refresh. The new model should introduce some styling and tech updates, along with mechanical changes.

Visually, the Accord is one of the most recognized mid-size sedans in the class. It features unique styling, and best of all, it’s offered with three engine options. Like before, the highlight of the offer is a hybrid powertrain that will receive some updates for 2022.

2022 Honda Accord Exterior

The latest 2022 Honda Accord should receive minor visual updates. According to our reliable source, the forthcoming sedan will be more attractive thanks to a revised grille with more effective LED headlamps. That should be the most notable change, consider that headlamps and grille were the only areas in which the 2020 Accord fell short. Depending on the model, the design of the Accord will vary.

For example, Sport and above trims, including Hybrid EX trims, will receive new LED high, low-beam headlights and the smaller fog-light housings. On the back, the new Accord will retain the sloped rear roofline giving this sedan great fastback style.

Cabin Design

Like the outgoing model, the forthcoming 2022 Honda Accord will feature the same layout and materials inside. This sedan includes much more standard equipment that makes it very competitive. It comes with an 8.0-inch infotainment touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto capability.

Other new standard equipment includes rear-seat-occupant and rear-seatbelt reminders. Depending on trim level, quality and tech levels will vary. The top-line Honda Accord Touring and Hybrid models get ventilated front seats, rear heated seats, a head-up display, adaptive damping suspension, and a navigation system.

2022 Honda Accord Powertrain Options

The new 2022 Honda Accord will most likely deploy the same three engines from the outgoing model. That means the base model will be available with a 1.5-liter turbo inline-4 that produces 192 horsepower and 192 lb-ft of torque. This powertrain is available on the trims LX, Sport, Sport SE, EX-L, and it features a continuously variable automatic transmission.

Optionally, one can get more equipment by choosing the Touring and turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine. This unit makes a robust 252 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque. Unlike the first engine, this one comes with a 10-speed automatic.

Hybrid Variant

The Honda Accord hybrid is the best choice if you’re looking for an efficient engine. Moreover, this version uses a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder gas engine paired with a 2-motor hybrid system. Combined, it produces a respectable 212 horsepower delivering an enviable 48-mpg combined rating in most trims.
