The all-new 2022 Genesis GV70 compact-luxury SUV has been officially confirmed. Based on the famous G70 sport sedan, the SUV model should provide similar driving enjoyment. The first photos are available, and we must admit, the GV70 looks attractive and unique.
This model will also feature a very comfortable and modern cabin with plenty of luxury. Under the hood, it offers two engine options. The entry-level model will deploy a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder, while stronger option is a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V-6. Genesis officials recently stated that we should expect this model to arrive later in the year.
2022 Genesis GV70 Comes With Modern and Sporty Design
The exterior of the 2022 Genesis GV70 is sporty and modern. Like its refined GV80 big sibling, the new GV70 is sitting on the same rear-drive SUV platform. Basically, the same architecture we saw on the Kia Stinger model. Overall, the front of this model looks identical to the GV80.
It consists of a big diamond grille and the same shaped LED headlights. On the back, the new GV70 comes with attractive taillights and sporty exhaust tips. Genesis reveals that GV70 will offer an electronically controlled suspension with road preview. If you didn’t know, the same technology is used on many Mercedes-Benz models.
Plenty of Luxury Inside
Inside, the forthcoming 2022 Genesis GV70 is a mix of the GV80 model and G70 sedan. However, we don’t have a full list of standard and optional features right now, but the cabin’s latest photos show an impressive level of luxury. Unlike the G70 sedan, the SUV has more space to offer with additional legroom to back-seat riders.
Also, according to the manufacturer, cargo capacity will be more than generous. In terms of technology, the forthcoming GV70 adopts the same infotainment arrangement and many features from the larger GV80. That means the widescreen 14.5-inch display will be present as the Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, and Lexicon stereo system.
Advanced Safety
Advanced safety and security technology will be part of this SUV. Genesis recently revealed that it will introduce for the first time a fingerprint scanner to start the vehicle or pay tolls or cloud-based services. Also, GV70 will feature navigation-based adaptive cruise control and the new rear occupant alert system.
2022 Genesis GV70 Powertrain Specs
As we mentioned, the upcoming 2022 Genesis GV70 is a compact SUV that will be offered with two fresh new engines. The entry-level model will include a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder, which can also be found under the larger GV80 SUV. This engine produces 300 hp and 311 lb-ft of torque. However, the next one is optional, and it consists of a twin-turbo 3.5-liter V-6. Like the first one, this unit also hails from the GV80.
Thanks to a twin-turbo V-6 engine, this unit cranks out 375 hp and 383 lb-ft. As the larger GV80 model, the GV70 will offer driver-selectable drive modes, including Eco, Sport, and Custom settings. Moreover, if you opt for the Sport package, you’ll also get a Sport Plus mode. Besides, expect the all-wheel-drive to be optional and rear-wheel drive standard.
2022 Genesis GV70 Release Date and Price
The new 2022 Genesis GV70 is the compact and modern SUV that features plenty of similarities with its bigger sibling, the GV80. Genesis confirmed that GV70 would go on sale sometime in 2021.
