2022 Dodge Challenger Comes With Minor Exterior Changes
The new 2022 Dodge Challenger features retro appearance and muscle design. This model looks unique and is very recognized. However, the new Challenger lineup receives several minor updates for 2022. First of all, the body and shape are the same, while Dodge makes the front fascia more aggressive.
The revised ring LED headlights and aggressive hood are instantly giving this car a more sporty stance. From what we heard, the manufacturer will offer a new set of 20-inch wheels optional on the all-wheel-drive SXT. However, the same wheels will be standard on the all-wheel-drive GT models. The first powertrain that powers SXT and GT models is a 3.6-liter V6 delivering 303-horsepower. It comes with a rear-wheel-drive (RWD) system, while all-wheel drive (AWD) is an option on both trims. The next one is under the R/T model 5.7-liter V8 producing 375 horsepower. This trim is also offered with Scat Pack and a more powerful engine 6.4-liter V8 rated at 485 horsepower.
One of the most powerful engines is under the SRT Hellcat. This model uses a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 delivering 717 horsepower. The output is boosted to 797 horsepower in the SRT Hellcat Redeye edition. Lastly, the 6.2-liter supercharged V8 powers the SRT Super Stock model and provides a fantastic output of 807 horsepower. The regular Hellcat has a 6-speed manual transmission, but the optional 8-speed automatic is available as well.
Release Date and Price
The new 2022 Dodge Challenger will once again try to beat the most favorite models in class, Ford Mustang and Chevy Camaro. This model will be available at some point in the next year with no changes in terms of price. That means the rear-drive Challenger SXT will still cost less than $30,000, while the most expensive Challenger SRT Super Stock reaches $80,000.
