The new 2022 Chevrolet Silverado was recently spotted on the road, and it seems that it wears a mild refresh. According to Chevy, the new model will feature some small esthetic changes and significant interior updates.

Silverado has many rivals in the same segment, and the most challenging ones are Ford F-150 and Ram 1500. For that reason, the manufacturer must introduce something new for this light-duty full-size pickup truck, if he wants to keep up on the market.

2022 Chevrolet Silverado Redesign

The latest pickup truck Chevrolet Silverado was recently caught testing and is wearing a lot of camouflage. Heavy camo perfectly covers the body of this pickup truck, not allowing us to see all updates. Still, we easly managed to see that most of the changes will happen on the front fascia. That means we should expect a new design language.

Many speculations indicate that the Silverado upfront styling will be identical to the new Blazer and Silverado HD models. Interestingly, the Chevy added a wider grille, thinner LED accents, and new daytime running lights. More importantly, the new tailgate is finally offered, and it carries the name MultiFlex.

Interior Is Getting Almost the Same Treatment as the GMC Sierra

Unlike the new batch of spy photos outside, the photographer failed to catch this model inside. However, we heard that the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado is getting almost the same treatment inside as the recently showed GMC Sierra. So, expect the interior to introduce severe refinements, including better materials and new high-tech amenities.

The current generation Silverado layout allows this pickup comfortably cabin for five passengers. In addition, we can expect the same thing on the new one. However, the 2022 Silverado will be more comfortable with better seats, and the manufacturer will revise a center stack and dashboard. That means larger displays could be on the offer, followed by many standard amenities.

2022 Chevrolet Silverado Powertrain Specs

Under the hood of 2022 Chevrolet Silverado, nothing significant is happening. Generally, Silverado offers vast powertrain options, leaving many competitors behind. This pickup truck is using a standard 5.3-liter V8 gasoline engine that is capable of making 355 horsepower and 380 lb-ft of torque. This unit is standard. However, Chevy also offers an optional engine that is more potent. This unit is a 6.2-liter powertrain that delivers 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque.

Lastly, the diesel variant will hit some of the markets, and it consists of a 3.0-liter powertrain providing more torque and better fuel efficiency. Plenty of speculations circulate that the next model could get some of the electrifications. However, we are still waiting for an official statement.

Release Date and Price

The redesigned version 2022 Chevrolet Silverado will come with plenty of improvements. Chevrolet stated that this model would go on sale next summer at the same time as the redesigned Tahoe.

Both models will introduce some of Chevy’s latest technology and more optional amenities. From some gossips, the base trim will cost $33,000. In addition, compared to the current pickup, this is a jump of over 2000 dollars more. The reason for this is the use of more quality materials. In the same category is the famous Ram 1500, so expect a fierce battle.
