The first ever Cadillac’s all-electric SUV, Lyriq, will bring plenty of uniqueness. According to General Motors, the new 2022 Cadillac Lyriq will arrive in the first quarter of 2022 in the U.S. market. The manufacturer earmarked almost $27 billion for its future E.V. and autonomous vehicles.

Cadillac also reveals that the Lyriq will offer a battery with about 100-kWh worth of capacity, resulting in driving ranges of more than 300 miles per charge. D.C. fast-charging capability is standard, and the Lyriq will also be able to charge on home power outlets.

2022 Cadillac Lyriq Uses the Newest Cadillac’s DNA

The forthcoming 2022 Cadillac Lyriq uses the newest Cadillac’s DNA, providing a futuristic and modern styling. This SUV comes with plenty of decisive graphic elements, featuring a full-glass two-tone roof subtly slopes. Overall, the front fascia dominates with the prominent grille and choreographed lighting.

The side profile of the Lyriq is also attractive, providing sharp lines and beautiful 23″ wheels. Unlike the Escalade model, the Lyriq wheels are finished in Juniper-tinted matte that nods to the interior color palette.

Luxurious Cabin

The 2022 Cadillac Lyriq is an excellent SUV that shows a very spacious interior. However, unlike many models in the same segment, Lyriq comes with just four seats, providing superior comfort. Like the recently introduced Escalade, the new SUV will future almost the same design language inside.

First of all, the dashboard of the Lyriq is dominated by a giant, 33.0-inch curved OLED display. The same infotainment system and the driver’s gauge display is present on the Escalade. It also offers a head-up display, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a Wi-Fi hotspot as standard features. On top of that, a 19-speaker stereo system AKG will be available as well.

Safety

In this department, we expect Lyriq to endow many driver-assistance features. Cadillac’s Super Cruise semi-autonomous driving technology is available, including automated emergency braking, lane-departure, and adaptive cruise control.

2022 Cadillac Lyriq Battery Capacity and Range

The all-new 2022 Lyriq is the first Cadillac’s SUV that will be all-electric. According to this famous automaker, the forthcoming Lyriq will be equipped with a battery capacity of 100-kWh. Thanks to that, the driving ranges of this SUV will most likely be more than 300 miles per charge. D.C. fast-charging capability is standard, while home power outlets should be available as well.

The hitter in the same segment I-Pace, for example, leaped with the same configuration to 60 mph in just 4.3 seconds. Basically, we are assuming that Lyriq could provide a similar performance. So far, there’s been no word of the estimated fuel economy, but expect more information closer to the SUV’s on-sale date.

Release Date and Price

The new 2022 Cadillac Lyriq will introduce a unique design and many great technologies. From what we heard, the arrival of the first Cadillac’s all-electric SUV will happen at the beginning of 2022 in the U.S, starting at $60,000. When it goes on sale, expect Lyriq to go head to head with models such as the Audi e-Tron, Jaguar I-Pace, and Tesla Model X.
