The more attractive version of the Acura TLX is coming, according to some early reports. After a fully redesigned sedan last year, the manufacturer decided to add some small refreshments to the 2022 Acura TLX model. Generally, the new sedan is another carryover model, offering only mild upgrades.
Unlike the current generation, the forthcoming Acura TLX is wearing a sharper headlight, attractive diamond grille, and chiseled front fascia, providing a razor-edge look. Along with the exterior design update, the manufacturer will also add more quality materials inside, making the cabin more pleasant. Overall, the design is attractive, and the new TLX reveals more sporty characteristics.
2022 Acura TLX Facelift
Like the upcoming generation MDX and RDX models, the new 2022 Acura TLX is wearing the same aggressive design language. Generally, unlike the outgoing model, the forthcoming sedan features more sporty styling. It comes with sharper LED headlights and a brand-new diamond-shaped grille, resulting in a razor-edge look. As for the dimension, the length of the sedan remains 194.6 inches. Moreover, expect the same 18-inch wheels with high-performance all-season tires as the standard equipped. Of course, much bigger wheels are available on upper trims.
The rear end is also stylish, thanks to triangular LED taillights and rectangular exhaust pipes. The top-line Acura TLX Advance is the most expensive trim that adds suspension system with adaptive dampers, decklid spoiler, black chrome badging, and rear diffuser.
On the inside, the 2022 Acura TLX will share the same overall design with the MDX and RDX models. Generally, this model will receive mild upgrades making the cabin more pleasant, thanks to more premium materials and soft touches.
When it comes to tech features, the newest TLX sedan is filled with it. The list is longer than before, and even the standard model is up to date. It comes with a 10.2-inch display as standard, and it also includes Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, 10 audio speakers, two USB ports, and Bluetooth. 2022 Acura TLX Engine Details
The latest news revealed that Acura would continue to offer two powertrains under the TLX. The current base model comes with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 272 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque.
However, a more potent engine turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine is available under the TLX Type S model. This high-performance engine generates 355 hp and 354 lb-ft of torque. According to Acura, both engines are paired with a 10-speed automatic gearbox. Front-wheel drive is part of standard equipped, while all-wheel drive can be added optionally.
Release Date and Price
Acura hasn’t released any information on when we can expect precisely 2022 TLX to be released. From some rumors, most likely that the new sedan will arrive later in the fall. As for the price, it will be released closer to the sedan’s on-sale date.
Basically, we expect pricing for the sedan to remain close to the current model’s range without any doubts. Prices for the current TLX starts at $39,0125 and can go up to $50,000. In the same segment, the list of competitors is long, and the main ones are the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, Genesis G70, BMW 3-Series, and Lexus ES.
