Following last year’s presentation of the concept prototype, Nissan has just released photos of the new 2021 Nissan GT-50 Italiadesign model. The upcoming GT-50 looks mean and more aggressive than the concept model.
According to the manufacturer, this model will be made in just 50 copies. A significant number of deposits were already taken from the manufacturer and customers who have already put an order might see this model later this year. As you probably know, the manufacturer sets its release at the 2020 Geneva Motor Show, but due to the Coronavirus outbreak, they scheduled it.
2021 Nissan GT-50 Italiadesign First Impressions
The new 2021 Nissan GT-50 Italiadesign is a sports car that looks amazing. If you didn’t know, Nissan collaborated with Turin, Italy-based Italdesign to create this model. The upcoming Nissan GT-50 Italiadesign is based on the latest Nissan GT-R NISMO, and it wears number 50 in commemoration of the 50th anniversaries of the GT-R in 2019 and Italdesign in 2018.
Besides, this model is a combination of European-style, Japanese performance, and Italian craftsmanship. Every single model will be tailored for each customer and as we mentioned, there will be built no more than 50 vehicles. The new 2021 Nissan GT-50 Italiadesign design is distractive, crisp, and compelling. This model features excellent crafted sports hood, stretched LED headlights and prominent “samurai blade” cooling outlets behind the front wheel. Moreover, at the back, the rear wing, mounted with two uprights, completes its overall look. Liquid Kinetic Gray color looks fantastic on this model, with distinctive Energic Sigma Gold accents.
Interior Look
Unlike the Nissan GT-R Nismo, the upcoming 2021 Nissan GT-50 Italiadesign reflecting its modern high-performance pedigree. This model features more upscale materials and we most liked a two different carbon fiber finishes across the center console, instrument panel, and on the door linings.
On top of that, seats provide maximum comfort and they are wrap in fine black Italian leather. The steering wheel is bespoke and is using a carbon-fiber, trimmed with Alcantara.
2021 Nissan GT-50 Italiadesign Powertrain
Everything under the hood of the new 2021 Nissan GT-50 looks pretty much identical to the concept model. As we mentioned, this sporty car marks the 50th anniversary of the GT-R and Italdesign. The new model comes with the most potent powertrains in the world. It packs a Nismo-tuned hand-build 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V6 that is able to produce astounding 710 HP and 575 lb-ft of torque. This is a significant boost if we compare this model with the specs of GT-R Nismo.
Production and Cost
As you may know, the prototype of this high-performance model has introduced two years ago and it gains much attention. Moreover, the first customer model was supposed to be shown at the Geneva Motor Show in March. However, because of the Coronavirus outbreak, the debut will happen in Autumn.
According to the Company, the upcoming GT-R50 by Italdesign is not a cheap sports car. This model will start at €990,000 ($1.12 million), which is five times more expensive than the GT-R Nismo.
