One of the hottest SUVs on the market 2021 Mazda CX-9 is getting some improvements. The new model is introduced with a bigger screen and the latest version of the Mazda Connect infotainment software.

Also, Carbon Edition is recently revealed and comes with unique styling and premium features. This model slots between the Touring and Grand Touring trim levels and it hosts a Polymetal Gray exterior with gloss black trim for the mirrors and grille. Mazda also used a body-colored rear roof spoiler and stylish 18-inch gray metallic finish aluminum-alloy wheels on the latest CX-9.

As we mentioned, the Carbon Edition model is introduced and it sits between touring with Touring Premium Package. This model comes exclusive with Polymetal Gray exterior paint, gloss black door mirrors, gloss black front grille, and 20-inch black metallic aluminum alloy wheels.

New for 2021 is a 10.25-inch large center display with the latest Mazda Connect infotainment interface.

This infotainment is compatible with Apple CarPlayTM and Android AutoTM. Other standard features include heated front seats, leather-wrapped steering wheel, three-zone automatic climate control, Bluetooth hands-free phone and audio pairing, a rearview camera, keyless entry, and push-button start. Mazda’s suite of i-Activsense safety includes a longer list of equipment. The forthcoming CX-9 includes Advanced Smart City Brake Support with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Warning with Lane-Keep Assist, and Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert.

2021 Mazda CX-9 Powertrain Specs

Under the new 2021 Mazda CX-9 is the same proven engine that also powers the current model. This model uses a very potent 2.5-liter turbocharged Skyactiv-G engine. Moreover, the output will be vary depending on fuel. For example, loading this model with premium fuel, the engine produces 250 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque. However, if you use a regular 87-octane, horses will drop to 227 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque.

Like on the current model, power is routed to the front wheels (FWD) via a 6-speed automatic. All-wheel drive (AWD) is optional and is ideal for all types of terrains. Towing is not the best, but it is acceptable. This SUV can load 3,500 pounds. However, it loses battle in this department from Honda Pilot’s 5,000-pound rating. Dodge Durango is in the same class, and it delivers 7,400-pound with its V8 powertrain.

Release Date and Cost

The latest 2021 Mazda CX-9 will receive plenty of improvements. This SUV sports a bigger screen and some new techs. Also, the manufacturer recently revealed Carbon Edition that looks astonishing.
