The upcoming 2021 GMC Sierra pickup truck is getting mild refreshments. A few spy photos are available, and we can clearly see some exterior refinements. Besides its blocky and angular look, the upcoming model is getting some updates on the front. Under the heavy camo upfront, this pickup hides a new mesh grille, and it uses more chrome around. Moreover, at first glance, shape and dimension will remain the same as before.
Interestingly, General Motors’ stablemate, the Chevy Silverado, uses the same T1 platform as the Sierra, but it comes with different design languages. The latest spy images also reveal that Sierra is wearing a new 17-inch painted silver wheels. On top of that, the rear end is also refreshed with better-looking taillights and a more muscular chrome bumper.
Interior Looks More Premium
The cabin of the 2021 GMC Sierra is looking roomy, and it provides many soft-touch surfaces. According to the manufacturer, the interior uses new insulation panels, making this pickup truck quieter than before. Like before, the Sierra is available in a few cab configurations. Basically, there is a model with seats for three passengers (regular cab), five or six with the crew, and double-cab configurations.
In terms of techs inside, the GMC Sierra offers a very long list of equipment. The standard package includes a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, Bluetooth pairing, and a USB port. The sellers recommend is to step up at least the SLE trim, which adds a leather-wrapped steering wheel, cruise control, keyless entry, automatic climate control, chrome bumpers, and Wi-Fi hotspot, and 6-speaker audio system.
2021 GMC Sierra Offers a Various Engine Options
The new 2021 GMC Sierra is a pickup truck that is available with few different engines and three transmissions. Also, like before, buyers can choose the eider rear- or all-wheel-drive system. The model is available with a mighty V-6 paired with a six-speed automatic delivering 285 horses.
The next engine is optional, and it consists of a 5.3-liter V-8 pair with a six- or eight-speed automatic. This powertrain can make 355-hp. If you’re seeking for the diesel model, the 6.2-liter V-8 is an ideal option. V8 produces 420-hp and 460 lb-ft through a 10-speed automatic and is rated by EPA 23 mpg city and 30 mpg highway. This engine also powers the Chevy Silverado 1500 model.
Release Date and Price
The forthcoming 2021 GMC Sierra will be available to purchase later this year, with a starting price of $29,300 for the base model. The newest Sierra 1500 has several different powertrain combinations, which means pricing will vary.
If you’re looking for the most fuel-efficient model, the optional diesel engine is the right choice. From what we heard, the diesel engine gets a $1500 discount from the previous model year, so it now costs $995 more than the V-8.
