The upcoming 2021 Genesis GV80 is the first brand-new SUV from Genesis, Hyundai’s luxury division. From the latest report, the new model will arrive this year, or precisely in summer. Many changes are visible on the final version compared to the concept that is presented in late 2017 at the New York Auto Show.
The manufacturer will add bolder lines and a revised grille. Inside, the new GV80 will be also improved over concept model and now it hosts plenty of premium materials. Under the hood, this SUV will be available with two powertrain options according to Korean Car Blog.
2021 Genesis GV80 Design
The latest 2021 Genesis GV80 provides a distinctive design. On top of that, plenty of improvements are visible. For example, we can see a new classy diamond-mesh grille, twin Quad-LED headlight, and the taillight that slats on each side. Basically, the same grille is also present on the recently revealed 2020 Genesis G90 luxury sedan.
Dimensionally, the GV80 has 194.7 inches length, which is nearly identical to the Mercedes-Benz GLE and BMW X5. The latest G-matrix pattern on the 20-inch wheels, specially made for this model, provide a more athletic look.
The interior design of the new 2021 Genesis GV80 dominates in the SUV segment. The cabin is unique and this SUV will be offered two rows as standard, or three rows model as optional. With the third seat model, there is enough space for seven occupants. However, as on many nowadays SUVs, the third row is very tight and is ideal for kids.
GV80 is the SUV that will offer plenty of standard equipment inside. For example, choosing the standard model, buyers will get a 12-way power-adjustable front seat, dual-zone climate control, a hands-free power tailgate, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and a power-adjustable steering wheel. The standard package also 14.5-inch includes the infotainment system, 12-speaker premium audio system, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto integration, and four USB ports.
The standard safety suite of the new GV80’s is also impressive. This model comes with a lane-keeping assist, blind-spot collision assist, forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, and adaptive cruise control.
2021 Genesis GV80 Engine Specs
The upcoming 2021 Genesis GV80 will be available with two engine options. The standard model will use a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 300 horses. Also, this model will be equipped with rear-wheel drive (RWD) as standard or all-wheel drive (AWD) as an option.
The turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 engine is the second powertrain and the strongest one. This powertrain delivers 375 horsepower and 391 pound-feet. Unlike the first engine, this one will use the all-wheel-drive system as standard. Both engines will use the eight-speed dual-clutch automatic.
2021 Genesis GV80 Release Date and Price
The all-new 2021 Genesis GV80 will be available to purchase this summer. Many rivals are waiting in line to compete with GV80. In the same class are models such as BMW X5, Audi Q7, Mercedes-Benz GLE, Volvo XC90, and Lincoln Aviator.
The famous company reveals that this model will start at $48,900, plus a destination fee of $1,025. Furthermore, going for the Prestige model, the price will jump to $70,950.
