The best hatchback on the market, Ford Focus, and the main candidate for car of the year is getting a facelift. The new 2021 Ford Focus will introduce plenty of improvements, and the highlight this time is definitively two mild-hybrid powertrains, exclusively made for European market.
Besides new engines, the manufacturer will also make this model more stylish outside and inside. In addition, expect plenty of high-quality materials inside and a fully configurable 12.3-inch LCD instrument cluster with curved upper edges.
2021 Ford Focus Looks More Attractive
In terms of design, the forthcoming 2021 Ford Focus will not differ significantly from the predecessor. The same proportion and shape remain, keeping the attractive hood lines similar to what we saw on British popular sport car, Aston Martin.
However, on the upcoming model front fascia is facelifted, and Blue Oval added more attractive headlights with a new LED strip in the middle. Alongside that, the grille looks more attractive and is very similar to what we saw on the previous RS model. The other noticeable changes include stylish wheels and more sporty styling behind.
Fully Configurable 12.3-inch LCD Instrument Cluster
The main focus of Ford is to make the cabin more comfortable and stylish. Believe it or not, the new 2021 Ford Focus gains plenty of improvements over the previous model, although, at first glance, it does not seem so. The new hatchback, besides more high-quality materials, is getting a fully configurable 12.3-inch LCD instrument cluster with curved upper edges.
Finally, for 2022, the manufacturer also includes a new Focus Connected trim level available with an advanced suite of standard technologies. This package includes a wireless charging pad, Ford`s SYNC 3 with navigation, Adaptive Cruise Control, front and rear parking sensors, and a rear-view camera. Like before, Ford Focus remains available in Titanium, Active, ST-Line, and Vignale trims. Also, this model can be chosen as a five-door, wagon, and four-door sedan body style.
2021 Ford Focus Deploys Two New Engines
The forthcoming 2021 Ford Focus is the great hatchback that will be offered with a few engine options. Ford confirmed that they would introduce two hybrid engines alongside the old ones. The hybrid powertrain consists of a 1.0-liter EcoBoost engine and 48-volt mild-hybrid technology. Working together, the models deliver 125 hp or 153 HP. Fuel economy is great with average fuel consumption around 57.3 mpg. According to Ford, that is around 17 percent lower fuel consumption than the powertrain it replaces (1.5-liter EcoBoost).
Alongside the new mild-hybrid powertrains, the 2021 Ford Focus will also offer three engine units. The 1.5-liter EcoBlue that delivers 118 HP is standard, while 2.0-liter EcoBlue turbo diesel 148 HP is optional. However, the petrol engine is still available featuring a 1.0-liter EcoBoost 123 HP and six-speed manual or optional eight-speed auto.
Release Date and Price
The release date of the upcoming 2021 Ford Focus will happen next year, according to Blue Oval. The new model will be improved, and it will get two new hybrid powertrains. From what we heard, all models, including ST-Line and Active, should be available to purchase in December. The base model will start at $18,000, while both the Active and ST-Line will be priced from $30,990.
