2021 Ford Escape Offers Fresh Design

The fifth-gen 2021 Ford Escape is a small crossover SUV that comes with a very compact body. This model now features a sleek profile, new stylish front, and rear fascias along with enhanced aerodynamics. The redesigned exterior is giving more overall shape, while orthodoxical boxy characteristics are gone.

Dimensionally, the new Escape is 2.4-inches longer and 1.7-inches wider than the predecessor. The new front fascia reveals a great shaped LED headlight, new grille, and the rear end simplistic than ever. Generally, the styling of the new Ford Escape cabin easily goes in line with the models like Mazda CX-5, Toyota RAV4, and Jeep Compass.

Interior Enhancement

The 2021 Ford Escape’s cabin is handsome and spacious. This model comes with highly textured cloth seat upholstery as standard. Moreover, plenty of customizations are available, and buyers on the higher trim levels will receive either convincing faux-leather seating surfaces or genuine leather in the top-spec Titanium.

The base S trim comes with a 4.2-inch radio display and an AM/FM radio, while the SE trim gets a larger 8.0-inch touchscreen display. The SE trim also includes Ford’s latest Sync 3 infotainment interface and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto capability. The most high-end tech is on the Titanium model. This model features 10-speaker B&O Play audio system, in-dash navigation, and a 12.3-inch digital gauge display.

2021 Ford Escape Engine, Transmission, and Performance

The latest 2021 Ford Escape is the crossover that will be available with a wide range of powertrains. The list starts with a turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine that can deliver 181-hp. This model comes with front- or all-wheel drive. Thanks to the turbo engine, Escape SE accelerates from o to 60 mph in 7.7 seconds.

However, upgrading to the optional turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder, the output will jump to 250 horses. This model scores a 5.7-second result in the same 0-to-60-mph test. Both gasoline powertrains above will use the same eight-speed automatic gearbox.

Hybrid Powertrain

To tackle new competition like the Honda CR-V hybrid and the Toyota RAV4 Prime, Blue Oval also offers a plug-in hybrid model. This powertrain consists of a 2.5-liter four-cylinder and two electric motors. Combined, it makes 221-hp. The plug-in hybrid crossover also deploys a 14.4-kWh battery pack, which is good enough 37 miles of electric-only driving.

Release Date and Price

The release date of 2021 Ford Escape will probably happen next year. Generally, because of the Coronavirus outbreak, many companies are forced to schedule release for the next year. Eider way, the new Ford Escape will bring plenty of novelties. The base model will start at $26,000, while Titanium PHEV reaches $41,000.
