2021 Ford Bronco Sport

The forthcoming 2021 Ford Bronco Sport is the crossover stablemate to the new Bronco. After reveals of Ford Bronco two days ago, the manufacturer also released some information about the Sport model.

According to Blue Oval, the Ford Bronco Sport has similarly boxy styling as the regular model with some small refreshments. This model is based on a car platform rather than the standard Bronco’s body-on-frame truck platform. From what we heard, the Sport SUV will go on sale near the end of this year and it will be offered with two engine options.

2021 Ford Bronco Sport First Look

The exterior design of the 2021 Ford Bronco Sport is compact and attractive. Generally, this SUV is smaller than Escape, although more massive than the EcoSport. From the information that we got, dimensionally this SUV is 172.7 inches long and with a 105.1-inch wheelbase. We like Sport’s tall, boxy body that reminds us of the latest Jeep Renegade.

The front reveals great styling with odd grille and LED headlights. Also, the manufacturer added BRONCO lettering in the middle of the grille and designs are very similar to the standard Bronco’s. At the back, we can see beautiful taillights and tow hooks. Ground clearance measures 7.8 inches for the base model and 8.8 inches for the Badlands.

Sporty and Techy Cabin

The cabin of 2021 Ford Bronco Sport reveals unique styling. This model is available in trim levels base, Big Bend, Outer Banks, Badlands, and First Edition. Almost all trims are offered with cloth upholstery inside, and a rubberized floor for easier cleaning. Outer Banks and First Edition trims are available with leather upholstery. Comfort inside is excellent and first that we noticed is that rear glass opens separately for the tailgate.

Unlike the regular model that features a newer Sync 4 system, the Sport features an 8.0-inch touchscreen utilizes Ford’s Sync 3 infotainment system. Driver-assistance features are the same as on the other Bronco models. It includes automated emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, and blind-spot warning are standard. However, one can get adaptive cruise control is optional.

2021 Ford Bronco Sport Powertrain

The latest 2021 Bronco Sport should ride on the same platform that underpins the famous Escape crossover. The first engine is a turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder that delivers 181-hp. This is a base model and it deploys lower specs.

However, the next one is more potent and it consists of a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo that can produce 245-hp. Both engines will be paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. However, the more powerful 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo brings steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters and upgraded cooling components. Bronco’s crossover cousin Sports thanks to these engines can tow maximum 2000 and 2200 pounds, which is not so good.
