The new 2021 Chrysler Voyager is in the final stage of testing. According to Chrysler, the upcoming model will bring plenty of notable features. If you didn’t know, this model is basically identical to the famous Pacifica minivan. However, this time Voyager won’t get the new face as the latest Pacifica.
From what we heard, this is the last model that will be developed, because Chrysler will no longer sell two identical-looking minivan models. The new Chrysler Voyage will be refreshed for the last time and it will arrive in showrooms as the model-year 2021.
2021 Chrysler Voyager Redesign
As we already said, the new 2021 Chrysler Voyager looks almost identical to the Pacifica twin. Design on both minivans is attractive and it will take a keen eye to see a difference between them visually. Cosmetically, the new Crysler Voyager doesn’t have much chrome or have fancy wheels as the Pacifica. However, Chrysler Voyager still offers a pretty attractive figure with its sleek lines and aerodynamic bumper. The front grille is slim, beautiful with minimal use of chrome.
On top of that, halogen headlights will be replaced with the LED, giving this model a better visual look. Like the previous model, the new one will ride on the same 17-inch steel wheels. Dimensionally, this minivan measures 121.6-inch wheelbase, the overall length of 203.8 inches and 79.6-inch width.
Cabin Upgrades
Unlike competitors in the same class, the forthcoming 2021 Chrysler Voyager comes with only a 7-passenger configuration. The cabin is comfortable on a long ride and the manufacturer added better materials. Like the predecessor, the Voyager comes with three rows of seats and offer the same second-row configuration with two captain’s seats. If you need more seats, Pacifica is the best choice that can accommodate eight persons.
Some dash refreshments have happened and Voyager host a way better 7-inch touch screen than before. This model is available in two trims L and LX. The base L trim comes with a two-zone climate, manual-adjust driver’s seat, an infotainment system that bundles Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration and great 6-speaker AM/FM audio system. If you need more equipment, the Voyager LX is a real deal. This trim costs about $2,800 more, and it adds a power-adjust driver’s seat, tri-zone climate control, and SiriusXM satellite radio.
2021 Chrysler Voyager Powertrain Specs
Under the hood, the latest 2021 Chrysler Voyager will use the same powertrain as the current one. This model is unfortunately available with the single-engine option. It uses Chrysler’s 3.6-liter V6 engine that is capable of producing 287 horsepower.
This engine is still competent on the market and is slightly more powerful than the Honda Odyssey. Like the previous model, the new Voyager will use a standard 9-speed automatic transmission. Thanks to this engine, this model has a towing capability of up to 3,600 pounds. Generally, plenty of models in the same segment as the Voyager are available with the front-wheel-drive system. Interestingly, the only model that comes standardly with the all-wheel-drive system is the Toyota Sienna. However, if you are seeking for a hybrid model, perhaps Chrysler Pacifica is the best option to consider.
Release Date and Price
As we mentioned, the new Chrysler Voyager will be available to purchase later this year as the model for 2021. According to Chrysler, the upcoming model will be refreshed and it will host plenty of improvements. Moreover, because Voyager is improved, we can expect some slight price increase. The Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of the current model starts at $26,985, plus a destination charge of $1,495. The better-equipped model Chrysler LX costs little less than $30,000. Compared to other models in the same segment as Toyota Sienna, the new Voyager has still low starting price. Both models above cost over $30,000.
