If you remember, the last time this sedan has got a complete redesign in 2016 and that results in a great sportier look. Moreover, the new model will get some refreshments and rumors swirling about Chevy will add more aggressive RS trim. We cannot wait to see Malibu dressed in the RS package. This model will definitively host darkened badges, upgraded wheels, a dark grille, a rear spoiler, and more.

The base midsize sedan comes with eye-catching body lines and almost coupe-like rake to the C-pillar and rear glass. On the back, attractiveness continuous with LED taillights and a single exhaust system on each side.

This powertrain, according to Chevy, will use a continuously variable transmission. At the top of the lineup is a more potent 2.0-liter turbocharged four-pot that produces 250 horses. Unlike the first engine that uses CVT, this one will mate to a nine-speed automatic transmission.

Production and Cost

There is no official on-sale date yet for the 2021 Chevrolet Malibu midsize sedan. However, based on previous release schedules, we could see this model at the end of the summer.

Pricing is also unknown, but because of mid-cycle refreshments, we expect pricing to remain close to the current model. The previous model starts at $24,095 for the base model, while the fully equipment model reaches $34,195. This midsize sedan will continue its battle with the models Toyota CamryHonda Accord, and Hyundai Sonata.
