The latest 2021 Chevrolet Impala is a full-size sedan that will be available to purchase this year. This model looks attractive, spacious and is very affordable. For a start, trademarks of this sedan are its massive trunk, plush seats, and a smooth ride. Besides its handsome exterior styling, this sedan offers a comfortable cabin that is, unfortunately, starting to show its age.
The new Chevy comes with the same layout, intuitive infotainment system, and vast cargo capacity. As you may know, Impala is the value player in the market and it rivals models like Toyota Avalon, Kia Cadenza, Nissan Maxima and Dodge Charger.
2021 Chevrolet Impala Improvements
This latest-generation 2021 Chevy Impala full-size sedan is somehow refreshed. In fact, this model still has the same proportions and is 201.3-inch long. The front of this sedan comes with a unique grille and LED headlights that describe Chevy styling.
The hood is more longer and it leads into a nicely swept windshield and sweptback roof. On top of that, the side profile is gently flexed with creases running just below the windows. The trunk lid is somehow shorter, but no worry, it hides plenty of space inside. Like before, the same wheel sizes are present and they range from 18 inches on the LT to 19- and optional 20-inch wheels on the Premier.
Impala Cabin Starts to Show Its Age
Inside, the new 2021 Chevrolet Impala provides a spacious cabin that is ideal for a family. Like the previous model, the new one has enough room inside to host five occupants. Interior materials are suitable and range from almost luxurious to a bit cheap. Soft-touch materials can be found everywhere on the armrests, door panels, and the upper dashboard. The leather seats provide excellent support and comfort on long trips.
Chevrolet’s MyLink infotainment system is updated as the many of tech inside. The base package will consist of a six-speaker stereo that can be upgraded to the 11-speaker Bose system, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot. Unfortunately, navigation with real-time traffic and weather updates is still optional.
Driver-assistance features are limited and Impala is available with automated emergency braking with forward-collision warning, lane-departure warning, and adaptive cruise control.
2021 Chevrolet Impala Engine Specs
Unfortunately, the new 2021 Chevy Impala will come with the same engine as the predecessor. If you remember, this model offers only single-engine choice and we can say that this is a significant disadvantage. In fact, many rivals offer two or even three powertrain options.
So, the latest Chevrolet Impala will use ageing 3.6-litre V6 that can deliver 305 horsepower and 264 lb-ft of torque. This sedan also uses a 6-speed automatic transmission and a front-wheel-drive system. Acceleration of this powertrain is quite good and Impala can reach 60-mph in about 6.0 seconds.
Price and Arrival Date
The forthcoming 2021 Chevrolet Impala sedan provides stylish exterior design and even better cabin. This model is available in a few trim levels. A low-entry sedan LT is starting at $32,495, while the Premier trims that come with more techs bump the price to little less than $37,600. Moreover, fully loaded Premier can easily pass the $40,000 mark.
With these prices above, the new Impala undercuts models in the same segment like Toyota Avalon, Kia Cadenza and Nissan Maxima. However, compared the main rival Dodge Charger, Impala cost slightly higher.
